We use a high-crystalline polymer that is non-toxic, odorless, hygienic, and safe. It retains 90 of your body heat and the Mylar insert provides insulation that can reflect heat back to the body or transfer heat from the sun. The space blanket is made of a tough insulating polyester film that resists tears and punctures and is difficult to tear while in use. Although not waterproof or windproof, the mylar thermal emergency blanket is.
Is this something that could be used to keep a tent warm?
It keeps hot things hot and cold things cold, according to my experience. If you wear it on your body, you will stay warmer because it traps your body heat. This, I believe, would aid in the insulation of a tent.
Is it possible to re-use them? as in a multi-night journey?
They are only to be used in an emergency. You may be able to use it for several nights, but repacking and unpacking it may be difficult and cause it to tear.

We used it in the hospital to get rid of the bulky blankets (they charged us for each warm blanket!). br>While the Emergency Blankets were effective, they only lasted a few days before tearing. Whether it was due to normal wear or the hospital staff's best efforts to destroy them, they were all destroyed.
