Questions & Answers

What are the waterproof properties of this product?

In the rain, it seemed to remain effective as it absorbed into skin. Swimmers and showerers will need to reapply after swimming or taking a shower. Worked well during a week-long trip to Indonesia where I spent four days in Jungle Villages. All I got was one mosquito bite in the entire trip, and that was because I didn't reapply after a shower, and we were out for a little while afterward.

Can anyone tell me whether traveling with this will be a problem? I read somewhere that TSA sometimes won't let you bring in deet-based ?

Any liquid amount carried in a carry-on bag is limited to three ounces. The product weighs 4 ounces, so it's a 4 ounce product. It would be technically impossible to use such a large bottle. All aerosols may be sprayed on the body while in checked baggage.

Would this product be most effective if applied directly to the skin under makeup, or would it be more effective if applied over ?

Spray into your hands then apply directly to the skin as it states on the directions. Keep your eyes closed, avoiding your It is not something I wear often, but I was told this was the best for mosquitoes while on a cruise in the Caribbean. I applied sunburn lotion to it and got great results. If this does not help, please let me know.

How can I not endanger my two cats if I use this on myself and my clothes?

Insect repellent products that contain DEET (or any other insect repellant intended for human use) should never be applied directly to cats (or to dogs), but using it on yourself *near* your cats is okay. (DEET is also not particularly harmful to any species, but since animals are so much smaller than humans, they are capable of ingesting much more than we do in "human safe" concentrations and amounts. However, even breathing the tiniest amount of vapor they may be exposed to or ingesting a tiny amount if they lick your body occasionally (since normal pets don't really do that much) wouldn't be a problem. In setting up your system, spray the substance on your hands, wipe it on your skin, and then pet your cats or dogs after you have applied it. However, wash your hands thoroughly before petting your pets after using it. You shouldn't use it on your clothes either, as a sidenote. The presence of DEET may damage some fabrics and may discolor some dyes, so there are other insect repellants that work well on clothes. (Before anybody starts freaking out that this means it's "horribly toxic", it isn't. It is true that some substances will damage fabric fibers as well, but the two are not the same, and what might or might not be harmful to one doesn't really apply

I am amazed at how well it works
5/5

Additionally, the feeling is similar to WD There are four things it does removes nail polish, melts rubber, and it may kill you one day. I was like, 'Holy sh*t, this stuff works. You may not like to put this on your skin because it is really strong, but spray it on your cotton shoes (like TOMS) and you will never get bitten around your ankles again.

It does not work on dogs. I've found this stuff has a lot of power. If you need to remove hardwood floors quickly, you might be able to use it. There's no doubt you'll melt the rubber in your flip flops and strip the polish from your nails. It will melt your rubber when it touches your legs. If you sit down on a rubber chair, you will stand up with melted rubber all over your body. The photos from a newspaper or magazine will reversely imprint onto your legs if you place it on your lap. Although it is not as effective as a bug repellent, it remains a great product.

Make sure you carry it whenever you travel

You can mix it with Avon Skin Care- This 16 oz. bottle of soft bath oil is scented with relaxing lavender. You should apply it regularly (original). The combination of this and my work in Alaska every summer keeps me safe from the mosquito (the State Bird). Fishing in marshes even works when the fishing pole is wading through it. While I was in the jungle for ten days with four of my friends in Costa Rica, no one of us got bitten at all. Our return flight was delayed by another passenger getting on the plane who squeezed some eggs (insect larvae) from a sore spot on his arm. There is no doubt I will have this to defend against Zika.

It is effective, but it is not portable
4/5

My purpose for buying this item was to go on safari in Even though I had access to a more common type of bug spray, I didn't want to risk getting bitten considering I would be in the bush for most of my trip, and even though I was covered head to toe in bug spray, I still got five mosquito bites. You should cover yourself head to toe. As far as avoiding bug bites go, this product was 100% effective for me. In spite of these precautions, the bottle ended up in the trash midway through my trip because it was so very On day one of the trip, the bottle basically exploded (bottle in tact, but liquid all over). Although I had it in a Ziploc bag, it got messy so quickly that I had to wipe it all down. I recommend it highly, but I think it doesn't travel well. Perhaps transfer it to a different bottle before traveling if you want to use it on a plane.

When this is applied, there will be no more biting bugs
5/5

If you are bit by bugs, are you willing to fool around with gimmicks or are you willing to just solve your problem by simply not biting by them? So I guess if you are like me and you don't want bugs bothering you this is the product you are looking for. Despite being 66 years old, I have been fishing, hunting, camping, and playing in the woods for most of my life. A couple of weeks ago, I went fishing in the back waters and saw fish which looked like no seeums biting me and my two companions. On the boat, there is a bug spray bag that is normally found lower down, but it was not there when I reached for it. There were ore than half a dozen other bug repellents between the three of us, which did nothing to keep the bugs at bay. things that smelled good and tasted good, but did not work to keep bugs at bay. I regret that the rest of the day was a miserable one. The only thing that might have prevented us from going home was our excellent fishing. In the evening, I went home and bought two of these containers. I returned to the backwaters to fish the next day, after the product arrived. Once the bugs began to emerge, we sprayed down with 100% deet. We didn't encounter any biting bugs for the rest of the day. Deet is the only way to keep bugs away.

Served in Vietnam for a period of time
5/5

A recent trip to Vietnam brought me back to the states. As part of our trip to Vietnam, we visited some tourist attractions, such as the Ho Chi Minh tunnels and the river delta. I did not get a single mosquito bite during the entire trip, while some of my friends did. Using two spray bottles, I sprayed I spread the cream on my arms in 3 spots, then my hands spread the cream all over. Besides applying it to my hands, I wiped it over my forehead, my neck, and behind my ears (sparingly). Besides spraying my shirt, pants, socks, and shoes, I also took the time to spray them. Although I was concerned about spraying 100% deet on my skin, no rashes have appeared as a result. We found the bottle to be fine and it In case I needed it later, I stored it in a zip lock bag. I found that it left wet spots on the cloths when dried that did not disappear when they were wiped with a cloth. Though I suppose it's better than getting bitten by a mosquito. My clothes came out of the wash without having spots on them.

You are the only one who works in the real forest
5/5

Despite living at the base of a mountain, I am surrounded by water. It is literally just feet away from my house that the forest canopy can be seen. There are really bugs and mosquitoes around and they are large and can fly away with dogs which is very funny lol they bite like horses and they get big and gruesome. Those who use regular bug sprays laugh at them. The only thing that will work is DEET. I don't think it's a good idea to look like a crack addict unless that's what you'd like to do. When I have scabs from all of the bug bites, and when I scratch like crazy, I feel like that. Thus, we are living out here and we need to find a solution. Only the pump is a negative for me. It is quite challenging to spray the backside. Put on gloves to protect your fingers, as this tastes like poop if you get it on them. is quite easy to wash off.

A superior product
5/5

I don't know how else to describe it. It will take a little dab to get the job done. Despite the name, this stuff keeps mosquitoes, flies, and even stupid box elder bugs away. Despite the fact that they don't sting or bite, they are quite It's silly to put their little hands where they are not supposed to! Is it dangerous? Probably when I'm old and infirm (er) I will give up a few tomorrows. I guess I'm okay with that. I would like to go without bug bites and creepouts for a few summers. Who knows what the things that bite might have inside them. I think the deal is fair. If you want to try organic stuff that doesn't work, or whatever it is that passes as a healthy meal, Ecco, or whatever it may be. It's a good idea. This is what you should do when you've had it with failing. The experts say 30% is a good level. Continuing to apply is another option if you wish to. better not repeat something four, five, or six times a day, rather just once or twice. Furthermore, if that were the case, how would it be considered healthier? An inch in time may be all that separates us. Anyway, I digress. It's your call.
