Plastic can be melted with this little thing called FLAME. This is not true and will never be true because logic would explain it.
The answer is yes, I think. As soon as I lit my lantern with this globe for the first time, it cracked. Be careful!

It doesn't seem to be a fancy, expensive drink, but some say it is I didn't receive a heat resistant glass since what I received is a Coleman replacement globe that matches the one I previously had on my Northstar lantern. I have seen only one difference between what I got and the picture of the item, which looks like smoked glass in the photo, but actually is perfectly clear, As a bonus, I also bought a carrying case this time.
Not much to say about it, except that the lantern came quickly, appears to be authentic OEM, and fits perfectly.
A product that is not expensive Replace the globe with a heat resistant one. I was extremely disappointed with the replacement globe since it started to blue out after a few months. The rock is prone to cracking and then breaking and falling on its face in a short period of time. The cost of Coleman's globes is high, and overall, I expect better quality from them. However, it seems that their quality has been lacking in many of their products for many years already.
The Coleman gear of the past is different from what is on the shelves now. It is no longer made in Germany.
There is an item called quicj & I was extremely pleased with the packaging. It was for my husband's camping equipment, and it arrived in perfect condition, but it has yet to be used.
With no complaints, it is the perfect fit for my lantern.

The original globe I bought cracked, so I decided to get this one. There is not much else I can There is no denying that the Coleman NorthStar Lantern is a Camping staple that won't let you down.
