Coleman lanterns from the 60s had globes that shattered during transportation, so seeing as though they are still made, I bought this globe to replace the broken one. The glass in my replacement globe is much thinner than that in my original globe. The original was made of Pyrex, don't you think? In addition, the replacement globe has a slightly smaller diameter, which is not too significant, but when you move the lantern, it rattles a little. Apart from that, the glass does the job quite well. It blocks the wind and allows light through. I'm certain I can make it last for a while as long as I treat it appropriately. I have a working heirloom camping lantern after repairing it. It cost me very little money.

I had no idea that there were so many different sizes of globes until I started this project. A few weeks ago, I got two from Amazon. It was too small on one side and too big on the other. This item arrived without any Coleman branding on it. It did not have a sticker, stamp, or anything like that. Once the lantern was on for about 60 seconds, the glass globe cracked. A few seconds later, I felt the knock off has been made out of regular glass, An example of a scam from China. Shame on China for taking advantage of Coleman's good name by using it for their benefit. Next time, I'll only purchase where I can actually see what I'm buying.
