A few months ago I decided to fix my Coleman 288, I got the lantern in the early 80's and I've had no issues with it however, I did notice that the pump occasionally slips. I was able to restore my old 288 lantern to its former glory with the addition of the leather pump cup. In addition to the lantern's size and availability of parts, I believe it will still be possible to preserve the older lanterns. In addition to upgrading the pump, I installed an amber huntsman globe in addition to replacing the generator. A nice lantern for the back end of the year.

The rubber pump washer got split off of my Coleman Dual Fuel stove when I used this. I had a problem with my pump that was easily fixed. of obenauf's leather oil, which is my preferred method for treating leather, and it started to pump up immediately.
