Questions & Answers
The Spot 350 Headlamp can be powered by AAA alkaline batteries or rechargeable Ni-MH batteries. Lithium or MH batteries are the two types of batteries available. Just make sure you're not mixing old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
This one, on the other hand, is powered by batteries. A rechargable version is also available from the same company.

The area where you press your finger to turn on the light is deceptive. There's a small groove where you can tap, which I discovered. I opened the battery case (which was a challenge for me), installed the batteries, and adjusted the light's target by working the hinge. br>br>Then, because I was unfamiliar with headlamps, I had to ask for help turning them on. br>br>After I figured out how to turn the individual lights on and off, I did some more experimenting and learned how to dim and strobe all of the lights. On the side, there's a small sunburst icon. Yes, pressing that button will turn on all of the lights. br>br>I'm not sure how to lock and unlock the lights, or if each light must be locked and unlocked separately. Until then, I'll remove the center battery, leave the case ajar, and enclose the headlight and third battery in a slide-lock plastic freezer bag, hoping that this will keep everything safe. br>br>I'm also not sure what the three battery LEDs that flash on and off when you turn the lights on or off are for, unless they're just to show that you've done so when the lights are dimmed.
This lamp appeals to me (I adore it). It's simple to set up and use, and it remembers your previous settings. Without changing modes, you can change colors and/or intensity. There is a lock on it; IT HAS A WEAK RED LAMP BUT HAS A GOOD WATERPROOF RATE. This red light, which is what I use the most, CANNOT JOG you. This has really let me down. I had a great red light on an Everready I bought at Home Depot years ago for under $15. I'd still be wearing it, but the headband isn't replaceable, and I've tried three different headlamps to replace it with, but none of them have a bright enough red light.
I didn't believe all the hype at first, and almost didn't buy it, but I'm glad to say the hype was true.
This was a Christmas present for my granddaughter, and she was overjoyed to receive it. She was excited to take it hiking and camping with her.
Lighting and durability are both excellent. For a battery headlamp, this is unquestionably a good investment.
At a very reasonable price, this is an excellent product.
We have three generations of Spots in my family, the most recent of which is this one. This little guy is a lot brighter than my previous generation Storm (which was broken by my son). My new Spot is fantastic because it runs on rechargeable batteries. The new two-button system is extremely appealing to me. Changing modes and adjusting brightness is a lot easier (at least for me). My son runs at night with his. (Street lights are not available in this mountain community. ) I use mine for walking the dog, hiking forest trails, and odd outside chores like chopping kindling, etc. Black Diamond has a winner on their hands with this light!.
