The product has been in use for 5 months. UPDATE: 10/23/20 I'm changing my original 5-star rating to a 3-star rating. These have been in my possession for about a year and a half. I've collected 9 glow sticks in the last 5 months. Four LR41 small batteries are required for each glow stick. I've had six batteries explode in the last four days, out of a total of 36. (When they go off, they sound like a cap gun or a drop-knife. ) pop. ) After the first one exploded, I replaced all of the batteries, wrapped the old ones in packing tape to keep them from touching, and have had 5 more (to my knowledge) explode. br>I'm now terrified that they'll set fire to the house. br>br>ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'm a wedding photographer, and I use glow sticks to mark the feet of my light stands during weddings so that people can see them and not trip over them. br>br>I'm a wedding photographer, and I use glow sticks to mark the feet of my light stands to make it easier for people to see them and not trip over them. br>br>I'm a wedding photographer, and I use glow sticks to mark the feet of my light stands to make it easier for people to see I'd have to mark three feet per stand at each wedding, and I typically use three to five stands per wedding, which meant I'd have to use and dispose of nine to fifteen glow chemical glow sticks, which seemed wasteful. This is the first LED glow stick that is bright enough to compete with chemical glow sticks while also lasting long enough to save me money. During my own 50-hour testing, each of these LED glow sticks maintained the same brightness. The glow sticks last about 6 hours at most weddings, so each LED glow stick will last at least 8 weddings, saving me $8 after batteries and LED glow sticks. It costs $40 per wedding, or $60 for eight weddings. So, as long as they work for me for half a wedding season, they've already paid for themselves. br>br>I'm writing this review on Thursday, but I used the glow sticks on Sunday, and they've been on for 102 hours and counting, and they're still glowing; It's still glowing, even though it's very dim. The chemical glow stick is on the left, while the LED glow stick is on the right in the photo. This is a product that I would strongly recommend.
I prefer these to regular glowsticks because they can be turned on and off as needed, and they are slightly brighter. If necessary, it can also be used as a dim flashlight. I also like that they're waterproof (though I haven't tried it yet). They claim to have a battery life of at least 60 hours, but in practice, it only lasted about 30 hours before dying. If the power goes out, it will light up a room reasonably well for several nights, something that most other lights cannot do. This product comes highly recommended by me.
I am ecstatic. Nite Ize and Amazon provide excellent customer service. I contacted them because there was a minor product flaw. I was able to get a replacement the next day. This is an excellent item for all types of bags and outdoor activities. I strongly suggest it.
It is less expensive and can be reused. I adore my gadgets, and this light is certainly one of them. It's as bright as, if not slightly brighter than, a fresh-cut flower. It's a cracked glowstick, and it's about the size of one, with a small clip on top. The best part is that it can be used again. br>br> I almost never use a glowstick over the course of its 8-year lifespan. This saves me from having to crack a new one every time I need an hour or two of light, or even 5 minutes of walking in the dark from a trailhead or something. br>br>I keep this clipped to my backpack and turn it on when I'm out late at night and there are cars nearby. It's also useful for marking your bear-proof area while camping. At night, stow food, a water source, or a tent.
Other products, such as this, turn off after about 30 minutes. That was unacceptable to me because I keep it dangling from the back of my backpack when I go hiking at night, and I need other hikers to be able to recognize me among a sea of white lights. This one works well because it does not turn off until I do. It also doesn't have a switch; instead, you twist it on and off, which is a plus because it eliminates the need for me to fumble for the switch.
I have several of these (in various colors) and they are of good quality. The Red one in this review, on the other hand, came with very weak batteries (which can be replaced). This is the first time I've encountered one of these ships. Even though it had about 10 hours or so of overall use on its current set of batteries, the initial brightness was far less than the other red one I own (same company and model) when I opened it. It brightened up as expected after I replaced the batteries. If you're going to be using these a lot, go ahead and order some extra batteries at the same time; they're available in multiple packs for a reasonable price on Amazon.
These lights are attached to their night collars so that we can keep track of them in the dark. They work brilliantly, but the first time we saw four lights flying around the yard, we laughed. The battery life is satisfactory - It begins brightly, but after a few minutes, the brightness begins to fade. When you put them on the next time, they start out fine and bright, but then dim. It's never too dark to see them, but I'd prefer that they remain bright. They are used once a day for a few minutes. One was broken when it arrived, but I soldered the broken connection, and it now functions properly.
These are a great alternative to glowsticks, but the battery life is only 6 hours, despite the fact that the manufacturer claims 60 hours of use. I'm not sure if it's because of the light or because of the battery, but it's a letdown.
