Questions & Answers
I got 12 in total.
No, these work because the chemical in the internal glass vial reacts with the chemical in the outer plastic tube, causing a chemical reaction. The reaction can be slowed but not reversed by freezing the chemicals, which also dims the light produced. Warming them after they've broken will make them brighter, but it will also speed up the reaction, shortening the time.
Each order comes with 12 glow sticks.
Selected User Reviews For Industrial Grade Glow Sticks(12-20PCS)/ 6 inches Ultra Bright Light Sticks - Emergency Light Sticks for Camping Accessories, Hurricane Supplies,Earthquake, Survival Kit and More - Lasts Over 12 Hours
After 8 hours of use, they fade to the level of a reputable 12 hour glow stick, as stated in the title. But, if all goes well, that will take about 5 minutes. I tried three different things and they all came up with the same results. The only thing they have going for them is that they last for 12 hours; in a pitch-back environment and as a last resort, they might be useful, but only very briefly. In a 10 100% emergency situation, your survival rate would increase but only if you had a pallet rack of them. These are only worth a few cents each, and you would never use them for anything that requires light to be safe. A single candle in a storm lantern is far more effective than a whole bunch of these.
I'm used to them lasting 12 hours, and while I didn't require industrial grade, it was a no-brainer for the price. I took one out of the box when it arrived and turned it on at 7 p. m. By midnight 50 of the glow had disappeared. It's not a big deal, but don't expect them to keep you awake all night.
Great brightness, and I would highly recommend it for the price. My only concern is that I won't be able to use it for an extended period of time. The few I've tried so far perform admirably for a few hours before rapidly dimming. After about 5 hours, the brightness is comparable to that of a dollar store glow stick designed solely for entertainment.
Yes! The pack that I purchased is very effective. I tested one of the 12 hour runtimes and it was very bright for 6 hours, then bright/well lit for another 6 hours, then faded to a slightly less bright than when first activated, but it did last for 13 hours. I was very pleased with the results. On another test, I held one unit in my hand and another on the table that would be submerged in ice water for a short period of time, and the unit in my hand was significantly brighter than the unit on my desktop in the first test. Both lasted 12 1/2 hours, and I was very happy with my purchase.
Fact: These lights are intended for general illumination and bearings, not for situations that require a flashlight. br> These snap lights lasted for a total of 36 hours before dimming! The first 24 hours were bright enough for me to navigate through the dark house late at night. It works well as a night light and can be seen from a distance of over 100 feet.
I bought these for a Cub Scout Halloween hike, and 7 of them were complete duds from the start, having been triggered at some point and rendered useless. It was disappointing that the blue and orange glow were so dim. Overall, we are disappointed with our purchase and will not be placing another order. We've used the military version before and were pleased with it, so we'll use it again in the future.
Last night, when I went to bed, these glow sticks were still glowing. It's been 30 hours since I started them! br>br>At first, they gave off a brighter glow than any other glow stick I'd ever seen. They weren't quite as bright after 24 hours as they had been, but there was still plenty of useful glow. br>br>I would buy these again in a heartbeat.
It doesn't last very long before it fades.
