I've got the green ones. They can be used in any lighting situation!
Not for . 22 except for.
I don't know much about technology, but it's just a piece of plastic that acts like a fiber optic thing and focuses light into the gun barrel. It works great, and you get two of them so you can lose one or give one to a friend. I hope this has been of assistance.

A few broken off pieces of plastic may not appear to be worth the money, but these are the ones I reach for the most on my bench when I need to quickly confirm bore condition or add light to a dark chamber. I almost always have enough light to complete the task in a few seconds with just one hand. This almost prevents me from using my powered lights to the point of exhaustion.
This was a huge letdown; They don't do much with light, if any at all. They're just light pipes with holes in their sides. Any light that enters the chamber to inspect your bore must exit the other end of the 'J,' so they're not much different than a mirror or a scrap of white paper in terms of how they work. In fact, they don't work as well as a scrap of white paper because they each have a dark spot on the "inboard" side (nearer the inside of the curve) that lets very little light through. That can't be done with white paper.
When you need to check the barrel of a used gun, this handy, very portable bore light is much easier to care for than most bore lights. When cleaning a barrel, this is a great way to check it.
I've used a number of battery-operated bore lights. All of them were a failure. The effectiveness of this simple device astounded me. My range bag has one, and my workbench has the other. It's a good buy. . . and it's unbreakable.
A very simple method of lighting a barrel and chamber. It's small enough to fit in your pocket and take to the range with you. Any gun kit would benefit from this addition.
These were featured in a YouTube video, and I knew I had to give them a try. It's shaped like a candy cane, and it really shows off the weapon barrel.
I ordered these on the basis of the poor reviews. br>I received two in the package, and for a cheap plastic "hook," they work great! br>You will need some ambient light, but it will shine nicely on the barrel walls, allowing you to see the condition and cleanliness of the barrel without being blinded. In your pistol cleaning kit, this is a must-have item.
It does exactly what it says. and a good price, but after using it, I found the green light to be unappealing. I've seen these before in clear plastic, so I'll keep looking. I'll keep the green beans because they're better than nothing.
