Sole made of rubber

A supple and flexible EVA midsole is combined with a torsion shank for added rigidity, resulting in a shoe that provides both comfort and stability.

The X Alp Spry is extremely packable, being light, flexible, and thin. It can easily be stuffed into a backpack or hung from a harness.

The front of the shoe has a rubber approach outsole that maximizes rock contact, while the back has trail running lugs that improve traction on difficult terrain.

Salomon offers a two-year warranty on all of their products.

A little too small

They're light and stylish, but I didn't find them particularly comfortable. Granted, I've only gone hiking a few times, and I'm sure they'll get better with time, but I've never had to break in a hiking shoe before. I have average-sized feet and found the toebox to be quite small. I had a good grip. They're fine for the price (especially since they're on sale), but not "wow, great, amazing, sooo comfy. " I'd give it a 3. 5 stars.

Hiker with a good deal of lightness

Right out of the box, it's super light and comfy. This shoe provided good traction and protection without being too heavy on my feet as I hiked 5 miles up and down 1000 feet of loose gravel and rocks.
