Questions & Answers

If I set up my cot in the tent, is it going to fit properly?

My tent allows me to build it and so far there has been no In your case, regarding the tent's legs against the bottom, it shouldn't matter since the legs aren't pointy or anything like that.

If this cot is set up on uneven terrain, will it fall apart?

You can rest assured that the Alps cot is very well made and is not likely to fall apart at all. I really like this product!

Does the pad insert work?

Several measures have been taken to improve comfort and thermal efficiency in this mattress. The double layer fabric top allows people to insert air pads or foam pads up to 2" thick if necessary. We'd like to remind everyone that this feature was added in fall

If you lie on it, how much sag does it have in the middle? Around 185 pounds is how much I weigh. ?

This is probably not going to be a big deal. Despite being 265 pounds, I still have about two inches between the ground and myself (which amounts to about one inch). The point of sag is 2"

The setup is a bit tricky at first, until you get the hang of it
5/5

This is a very sturdy and comfortable chair. Now let's get to the bad stuff. As far as I know, there are none. I love you. Yep, it is a bit difficult to put together the first few times, but once you find the trick it is very easy and very sturdy and it is very comfortable. My height and weight are 6'3 and 240, and I use this with my sea to summit mat and have absolutely no complaints. If you slide in the two long main poles, make sure you keep the slots even and start with the two ends for the bottom brackets first before going in the rest. As long as you put some pressure on them, so far I haven't broken anything, and I can be a bit rough at times. at this thing, it's made for backpacking, makes a great travel companion, and breaks down very small. If you use it to pack on your motorcycle, then it is quick, easy, and big for setup. If you use it to pack on your bike, it is small, lightweight, and once you put it together a few times, you will quickly see how easy it is to assemble. The kit is a very well made piece of equipment. The stitching is good and the fabric and aluminum are sturdy and strong. This is not a cheap product, but you probably won't find a cheaper product than this.

The mattress is comfortable and durable
5/5

I have slept on it for six nights. My butt does not touch the ground even though I am 6', 260 lbs. With just a few simple steps, it assembles in less than five minutes and travels in the bag it comes in (which most camping gear The only thing I don't like about this is that the material is kinda slick, so if you're on an incline, you might slide. The price and rating capacity of this device were a good compromise for me. Hit is a good product. You'd be better off sleeping on a pool float than on the ground.

I use this cot for motorcycle backroad camping, where I add comfort to my camping experience
5/5

The sleeping bag can easily fit inside the dry bag with it since it's light enough and packs down small enough to fit in the dry From the time I take it out of the dry bag, to the time it is fully assembled, I can set it up in about 10 minutes. Tents for two people are what I use. It is recommended that you assemble the cot outside and then put it in the tent. Flipping it is hard because it is so big. My tent pad went down first, then the cot was assemble on the pad, and then the tent was setup. With this, camping has become much more comfortable, and there is also some storage under the tent for camping clutter, like riding pants and jackets. To be expected at a price like this, the materials are very high quality.

A quick and easy set up made the experience comfortable
3/5

This cot belongs to my husband. We used it twice last summer when camping. A quick and easy set up made the experience comfortable. One of the clips on the cross bar broke on the second attempt when we pulled it out. This is why I gave it just two stars. The cot is useless since it only has four cross bars to support the patient. Our expectation was that we would receive a high-quality product for the money we paid.

The design is close, but suffers from a major Despite the fact that they were designed to make it easier to stretch the fabric over the long side rail poles, there is a serious flaw in the design
3/5

There is no side entry and no slide over as you can see in older photos and on other brands instead, the pole goes into a hole at the end and then can be closed My 60lb child had slept on it for one night and the pole had worked its way out from behind the Velcro strap, which caused the cot to no longer be The photo shows the location. The design flaw is one of the things I would have kept the cot if not for this, but for the going price of $179, I cannot justify keeping something with such a serious It's not all negative for ALPS, because we can also find some benefits with this cot. The pros are There is no plastic in the structure, so there are fewer wear and failure points
Lighter than average for all-round performance Cot fabric is luxurious and has a silky feel to it, comfortable enough to sleep on, no squeaking from fabric over rail friction. It comes with a zippered travel case that opens wide and has extra straps that you can attach to the outside of your luggage. **The office is located at It is genius to have ring cross bar positioners. Pros (Photo) There is a major design flaw in the way rails are secured
Openings along the long pocket are sewn in a way that the rail cannot be continuously inserted without readjusting each time the pocket opens in order to keep it from popping out. Other brands have a trick where you can point the rail at a 45-degree angle If you angle it at 60 degrees, it will stay in, but at any angle, it won't. Its no light, and the crossing bars feel cheap, and could cause premature wear (it tried to take a photo)
While the all-terrain tires provide good traction, their weight just doesn't justify the price (it tried to get a photo) In some situations, it may be difficult for users to assemble iron cross bars since they are made of metal, which could put them at a disadvantage. The last bar was difficult for me as I'm a 5'6" 140lb woman in reasonable health. By the 5th bar, I was exhausted and couldn't get it.

It is the best piece of equipment I have ever You can buy it right now
5/5

In addition to being 6'4" and 245 pounds, I have a chess score of 96. Outdoor enthusiast with extensive back-packing and camping experience. I have never made a better investment in gear. As I sit on a cot at a Scout camp, I feel as comfortable as I have ever been sleeping in a tent. You can't possibly be disappointed with a self-inflating mat and this combo.

The shock cables are awesome! Having debated for quite some time, I decided to save a few dollars by getting the ALPS ready lite rather than *Br>* Br>The design of the shock cables running along the long poles was the most appealing to me
5/5

My biggest fear was that if I was going to be frustrated while setting this up, that would be the case. The packing of it was not what I expected as I was told that it would be small, but I was not prepared for how small it was. The fact that it is so light makes it extremely easy to pack. This is an important feature. It took no time at all to set up, once you figured out how to tighten Long poles may have a rubber ring on each leg that corresponds to a groove in the leg. With those in place and some body weight to clip in the other leg, you're good to go. Is it possible that my younger brother might be able to Would your teen son do such a thing? You cannot easily do it. Is it possible for a teenager to become an In terms of comfort, it had just the right amount of give in the fabric, so it works out very well After sleeping on it for four nights, I think it's time to do something about it. The Kelty Gunnison 3 is equipped with three shotguns. The cot needs to be built INSIDE the tent. There were two of us (one indoors crashing at someone's place, one outdoors. Those Klymit air mattresses are heavenly. On my first night in the tent I used those together with the cot and it was fantastic. As a whole A cot at this price is very expensive. You will have to learn how to setup until it becomes second nature. It is worth it from a comfort perspective. There are cheaper cots in my possession, but I doubt I'll use them anytime soon. It appears to have found a new home! As someone who spends a lot of time in a tent and is a bit of a gear nut, I think I've.
