Questions & Answers

I have a pocket rocket for hiking the AT, and I was thinking about getting this grill to give the stove a little more stability. Is it going to be successful?

It's stable, but it's heavy for a thru hike (mine is 20 pounds). 6 oz. (1.25 kg) 3 lbs), which is a little too much for me to carry as part of my cooking system. br>I think this grill is best for when you want to go on a short hike and grill meat, or when you want to car camp without having to use a greasy grill like a bbq pit or gas grill. This one, Leo, is to keep the gray nastiness from spreading to your other belongings. If you want something more stable, I'd recommend getting the Snow Peak gas grill.
EDIT: I would add that after a few times putting it together, I had no trouble doing so. Once put together, mine has always held up well.

Is it safe to put it in the dishwasher?

That is, I believe it is. It is made of stainless steel of the highest quality. It's tough, but keep in mind that it's a bit heavy for solo hiking. Please accept my apologies if my English is stumbling. I am not a native English speaker.

Is it hollow or solid across grill rods and standing rods?

The grill rods are sturdy, and I'm pretty sure the legs are, too. Thank you for taking the time to look at my website!br>Jim

Is it possible that the information you're referring to is outdated? However, as far as I'm aware, there is only one size; this one's grilling surface is 9. 1" x 10. 2". Thank you for taking the time to look at my website!br>Jim

When I first placed the grill on top of, it worked perfectly
3/5

I went camping in Orlando over the weekend and this grill only lasted a few hours. When I first set it up on top of my campfire with a light-weight cooking pot on top of it, it worked perfectly. The weight of the pot and its contents was evenly distributed across the grill's metal grate. No signs of bending or warping could be found. After 8 hours, the threads on the four corner support pieces had either come loose or had failed. I don't know why they weren't holding, but they weren't. Except for one piece near the center, some of the metal grate sticks were mildly warped. It became a parabola as a result of the bend. So, what went wrong? I'm not sure why it was so perfectly curved, but it was. I'm guessing the metal is simply low-cost. I gave this product a one-star rating because it only lasted one use. It was simply unsalvageable, so I had no choice but to discard it. I'd like to be objective in this review, but I recently lost $25. Advantages: br>br> In an emergency, you could use it to cook a meal or defend yourself with it as a weapon. It's got a nice feel to it. As a backup holdown spike for your tent, there are two sticks with hooked ends that you could use. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. This thing is a little heavy if you're backpacking and are a lightweight fanatic. Because my check-in luggage exceeded the 40-pound weight limit, I had to make some sacrifices in my luggage. in bag.

It's a bit heavy, but it's a great little grill
5/5

I wouldn't recommend taking it on a long backpacking trip, but it's perfect for camping. This is a great little grill that fits everything into one tube. It's perfect for putting a pan on the fire or cooking a steak for two people. Before you go out and use it, practice putting it together a few times. It's well-designed and, once properly assembled, quite sturdy. After you've done it a few times, it becomes incredibly simple. There are no complaints about the construction because it is entirely made of stainless steel. For go bags and general camping, this is a good grill to keep in your vehicle. It's best for solo trips, but two people can easily be fed. When hiking mileage is low, it's ideal for overnight or weekend trips.

Deep in Mill Creek Canyon, I grilled four perfect filets
5/5

We frequently go on overnight "luxury" hikes, where we bring nothing but real food and many home comforts, and grilling Filet Mignon has become a standard, which is a nice change of pace from those long treks where you're dehydrated for days on end. However, packing a small Weber grill has proven to be inconvenient, so I grabbed this unit instead. It's a little heavy, but it'll suffice for overnight hikes where a few extra pounds won't make a big difference. Fits in or out of your pack with ease. It's even good for steaming tortillas over your JetBoil pot the next morning for some crazy breakfast burritos.

Awesome
5/5

This is a fantastic device. It's probably too heavy for long hikes or backpacking trips, but I primarily use it for one-night camping trips with my friends. Perfect for grilling a steak, this pan can hold two medium-sized steaks or one larger porterhouse steak. The grill is large and difficult to clean, but it cleans up well with steel wool. The grill folds up into a small package that fits easily into the water bottle holder on my backpack. It's heavier than it appears, which is why I only recommend it for short journeys. br>br>At first, setting up the grill can be a little tricky, but you'll get the hang of it. Also, the grill bars that run across the width of the grill can bend, but only slightly, and they can be bent back easily. br>br>This is the only reasonably priced compact grill solution I've found, and it's useful for cooking over an open fire.

This is a fantastic suggestion - The execution was poor
3/5

I've been experimenting with this grill and have discovered that while the concept is fantastic, the execution falls short. The quality control process, as others have stated, is hit-or-miss. There is one major flaw in my opinion, which is why I am unable to recommend it. The grate rods are perfectly aligned with the ports that the legs thread into. This means you can't tighten the leg very tightly on the smaller tube or the rods will bend. To avoid interfering with anything, the leg holes should be slightly offset. To demonstrate the problem, I attempted to take a photo. If that issue could be resolved, and the milling could be more precise (none of the legs appear to be at the same angle; I would then give it my highest recommendation (as seen in the photo). I'm going to use it until it breaks down. I'll return it if it'll only be for a short time.
