Stick with the older (XL) version; it will last you a long time and can be passed down to your children! One was over ten years old when I got it, and my son now owns it
5/5

br>br>Be sure to get the XL model with the slide-in tables on both sides - this is the old style. Get the carry case (which has wheels), extra grill/griddle plates, and the high-pressure hose kit for full-sized propane tanks as well. br>While all of the components are expensive ($$$), they are well worth it if you plan to use it on long camping trips. br>This is without a doubt the most used item in my camper; it's held up to years of use and keeps going (everywhere)br>br>DO NOT BUY THE NEWER MODEL WITH BUILT-IN WHEELS; they are cheap, thin metal (I bought one and it was damaged in the box - (I returned it. ).

the cooktop in the overland/studio apartment I've been camping since I was a kid, and when I got married and moved into a small studio apartment, I needed something that could double as a camp stove and a grill at home
5/5

br>br>THIS IS A GIFT FROM GOD. The burners have incredible power, and the propane life is ridiculously long. I go through a 16-pack in about a month. 4 cans, based on 2 (3-day camping trips) and a few days per week usage. I grill three times a week at the very least, and usually all weekend. Last night, I cooked four ears of corn, four ribeyes, and two crapcakes. The griddle works great for burgers, steaks, and short ribs, and it doesn't smoke up the house. The grill grate is great for burgers, steaks, and short ribs. I like that I can cook bell peppers and onions on the griddle while grilling burgers or brats on the grate. It's easy to clean. I clean it once a week on average. Remove the griddle and grate from the grill and preheat it. Turn off the grill and then clean out the drip pan; it's that simple! Re-ignite her with a squirt of simple green. After everything has burned off, replace the grates and you're finished. Probably no more than 20 minutes. br>br>The stand is sturdy, and the side shelves can hold a reasonable amount of weight. When I go overlanding, the whole thing folds up and fits nicely in my Jeep Wrangler.

Camping is a great option
4/5

This is the second time we've done something like this. We used the first one for ten years before stopping camping for a few years and selling most of our belongings. There isn't anything better out there, in my opinion. The legs have screw levelers on the bottom, which is a feature that is not mentioned but is very useful. You don't want your eggs to slide off the griddle while cooking! It also fits nicely on the end of most campground picnic tables, so I don't have to put it out very often. It folds up neatly and fits easily into our RV's storage space. Cleanup is a breeze thanks to the water basin beneath the burners. We purchased an extra griddle and grate for the first stove so that we could use griddles or grates on both sides of the stove at the same time. The griddle/grates that come with the new stove are aluminum, which is a minor nitpick. They do a good job of keeping the stove lit. If you order more griddle/grates, they will now be cast iron. Two of these are nearly the same weight as the entire stove. Who wants to drag that much extra weight around with them? Please, Coleman, reintroduce aluminum griddles and grate replacements.

This is exactly what I was looking for in a camping grill
5/5

My review will focus on how well this grill meets my camping needs, which I believe it will do admirably. Before buying a Roadtrip grill, I read a lot of reviews and decided on the classic LX, which many reviewers recommended. I'm glad I did it after getting the grill. The grill itself is light enough, certainly lighter than I expected, despite the fact that I am a larger man (6'0 260lbs). In any case, I don't think it would be difficult for my wife to move it around if she needed to. The fact that the grill can be used without the stand is a huge plus; the other Roadtrip grills don't have this feature, and the only drawback with the LX is that it can't be wheeled around; I don't think I'll miss it. I've used the stand, and it's sturdy enough. It's not indestructible, but it won't blow over in the wind, and any accidental contact from a child or your inebriated uncle will be easily absorbed. Place the grill on a table if it needs more support. I've used the grill twice now, for burgers and steaks, and it's performed admirably on both occasions. The aluminum grates don't seem to be holding up well, but I bought the grill knowing that I'd have to upgrade to cast iron grates eventually. It was a piece of cake to clean out the grease pan. I pre-filled it with water before cooking, and after letting the grill cool, I easily picked up the pan and washed it in the sink with dodoo and water. With both burners, the auto-ignition function worked right away. When it comes to temperature regulation, I'm not a professional griller, but as long as my food tastes good and my steak is medium rare, I'm happy, and this grill did the job with an extra thick T-bone steak. bone. You will not be let down if you are looking for a camping grill.

This grill is fantastic
5/5

This grill is fantastic. I really like how simple it is to put it together. It was a fantastic grill because of this, as well as the dual burners. My only complaint is that I couldn't get the water to boil in a reasonable amount of time because there was always a breeze. Everything else I made was simple and quick, and I'd suggest using a handle-style pan. If you're trying to bring water to a boil, you'll want to use a smaller pot so you can close the lid (but remember to use an oven mitt). br>br>It was fine for me (5'9" tall man) to stand with my legs extended. I was concerned that the legs would be insufficiently strong, but they proved to be adequate. While working, it didn't sway in the least. br>br>I also bought a pot-stove top and a wheeled carrying case. Although this increased the overall cost, I am very pleased with the carrying case purchase. It has two halves: a flat top half and a grill top half. That, I believe, would be acceptable to the vast majority of people. The case, on the other hand, makes moving and storing it much easier.

Although this grill is ideal for portable use such as tailgate parties, there are concerns about the gas connector's durability due to the large external tank
4/5

Everything about this grill appears to be excellent, EXCEPT when it comes to using it with a large external tank, in which case the long tubes coming out the back and angling to accommodate a small portable propane cylinder makes me nervous about how long this connector will last. I'm going to try to come up with some sort of backing for it. br>br>One of my 'bros had one and suggested it - In Wisconsin, he uses it all year, proving that what they say about being able to work in colder temperatures is correct.
