The capacity of my dutch oven is approximately 6-quarts. It holds 8 quarts and appears to be a good size. When it comes to cooking, you should probably look into engine hoists.
Texsport, one of the last cast iron cookware manufacturers in the United States, makes the one DownTime Tactical carries.
The tripod is of good quality and the chain length can be adjusted. The tripod's only flaw is that it's too short for a good campfire, which I remedied by purchasing a 10-foot length of iron pipe into which the legs could fit. I divided the pipe into thirds, drilled and pinned each tripod leg into the pipe at the same distance. It now functions flawlessly.
Of course, if your fireplace is tall and deep enough, it could, but that would require a fairly large fireplace.

This item is exactly what it appears to be; I purchased it instead of many other options and discovered that it saved us a great deal of time while also providing the true comfort of cooking over an open fire in the wilderness. br>br>It's a little too heavy for backpacking, but it's ideal for car camping.
I'm serious. Other tripods are a waste of time and money. This thing is a beast: it's made of solid steel, it's heavy-duty, it won't collapse, and it's tall enough to hold a large pot in place. The adjustable chain is also extremely strong for its intended use.
I use it for camping and cooking (Potjie food) in a number 4 cast iron pot at home. The heavy number 4 cast iron pot full of food is supported by this tripod, which is sturdy and stable. The height can be easily adjusted using the chain or the tripod's legs. For me, it's a good fit. It makes me extremely happy. This is the pot I'm using right now (.
It takes a little getting used to setting it up correctly, and it can be a little unsteady at first, but it still works well and is a high-quality item.
We used this to hang a cast iron kettle of apple cider over a fire for our haunted trail event during Halloween, and it worked great! The design is fantastic, allowing for a variety of heights based on personal preference and folding up neatly. The quality of the construction is also excellent. We intend to take this camping again in the future, and we highly recommend it!.
This is substantial and sturdy enough to hold my cast iron Dutch oven, which is exactly what I needed. We also used it to hold my lantern, which I've only been able to hang from tree limbs because I lost parts to the pedistal. Because there aren't any trees in the desert, boon docking is no longer an issue! I highly recommend this tripod because it is simple to set up and store.
It was perfect for cooking over an open fire. I backed the Dutch Oven, which provided some delectable meals. Heavy-duty construction.
It does exactly what it says it will do, and I thought the price was very reasonable.
