It's not going to happen, in my opinion. After a week of use in the backcountry, mine had no scratches. This is an excellent product.

We used this spatula to flip pancakes and shimmy a pizza off of a standard Coleman camping griddle on a recent camping trip, and the bottom of the spatula has already melted/degraded. It was only used for TWO MEALS and was never allowed to rest on the griddle or other hot surface. This spatula's quality and durability disappointed me greatly.
For me, the GSI spatula is ideal. I went through several folding spatulas before locating the one I needed. It's more durable than I expected, and the pivot is well-secured. When I read reviews about how small it was, I was a little concerned, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be comparable to others I've owned, and it has the right angle and sturdiness to easily handle burgers, pancakes, and eggs. As I previously stated, this is exactly what I needed.
This does what it's supposed to do, it's light, and it folds up to take up very little space. So, if that's important to you, these could be a good option. These aren't heavy-duty, but they're light-weight. I think they're a little pricey for what they are; they'd be great for backpacking, but they're too pricey for car camping or over-nighting. landing.
It has a long handle (approximately 10 1/2 in. ). Overall, it folds up small and is lightweight. br>Worth every penny. It is not designed to flip heavy items such as large steaks, but it can handle a 1/2 pound of meat. 1 lb. easy.
Now I get it; once it's opened up, it's very safe and comfortable to hold. I'm looking forward to using it in conjunction with my new GSI Pinnacle frying pan.
This item is extremely durable. It has a cutting edge as well as a solid locking design and compact size. It isn't adaptable, but that suits me fine. I like knowing that it won't break under pressure. It has a long shelf life in my opinion.
This is an inexpensive flaw that GSI should fix. I expect them to smooth out with use (or you can use a lighter to gently heat the edge/mold seem away). Overall, this is a good backpacking spatula because it is sturdy and light.
This is a fantastic spatula for camping! On a canoe trip this summer, I used it to cook fish, flip pancakes, and fry eggs for two weeks. It performed admirably, withstood the heat of the pan, and is small enough to fit into my mess kit. This is a product that I would strongly recommend!.
