Questions & Answers
On all GSI cook wear older than model 5.5, the handle was a clamp.
If you are cooking with this, please remove it and replace it with another Whenever it is necessary, I will attach. By doing so, you ensure that the handles don't get hot, no matter how big the heatsource under the pot is.
Although it is not super tight, the handle provides adequate support for the pots and pans A pan. Care must be taken, but given that the handle must be able to move easily from pot to pot, it must have some clearance so it can do its job. I hope this is helpful!
There is nothing wrong with the others. It seems to be specific to GSI and only some of their pots

Although this is a fine product, it is a bit complicated and heavy for a pot handle, but it is compact. I only give it three stars (instead of four) because a second handle should have been included on the Bugaboo pot & handle. Kit for making dishes. I found it difficult to connect and disconnect the handle once I've attached it to a hot pan. In order to stir the light pots, I hold the handle while I hold the pan still. When cooking with two pans simultaneously juggling the handles between pots becomes a chore, so I use this as a second handle for my GSI Bugagoo kit that's enclosed in the GSI container.
A great addition to the Pinnacle Cook Set from GSI, by the way, which is great for camping as well. This handle fits both pots and lids and can serve as a fry pan handle as well. The fact that it folds in half to store in one of the cups/mugs makes it very convenient. It is very sturdy and can hold the biggest pot of water with no issue. It has been a pleasure to use this cooking set extensively for the past year.
Our portable gripper is useful when we have a pot and a skillet on at the same time, but do not wish to swap grippers. It seems like this could be a point of failure for GSI's entire cooking system, but we have gone through our first season and about 50 uses, and neither gripper has failed.
The money I saved was worth it. This piece was missing from a GSI cookware set I purchased at a store for a discounted price. My thanks go to Amazon for making it available for me. In the beginning, I thought this thing was a bit much for just a pot gripper, but this has a fair bit of technicality. A locking mechanism allows it to be folded up. As well as locking into place, it connects to both pans and pots. I still saved a lot of money over buying the whole set brand new after buying this, so I'll say it was a good deal.
The only down side is that not all GSI Outdoors pots come with this Found the item and am happy that it was there This camping cookware is necessary if one uses it.
If you own any of the GSI camp sets, which only come with one pot/pan holder, then this is a must-have.
This handle was a gift to use with two pieces of my set so there was no switch needed.
A friend who is suspicious will not burn his fingers on these handles since they are compact, light, and of course, useful. If you want to plant more than one pot, buy two. A problem like this came up for me. It is smooth to touch, and it is solid when you snap it.
