Questions & Answers

In what way are the pans of the Wealer camping cook set durable and how thick is the bottom?

At the moment, these are in storage so I cannot comment on the exact characteristics but it has been a really good set of nested pots. I did use some of the cookware, but they were much larger than I expected, definitely family sized cookware. It would not surprise me if they hold up very Exactly what I expected just too big and heavier than I expected, which bodes well for long-term use in an RV or on a boat

What kinds of lids are included with the pots?

It comes in a bag with lids, and each one has a lid

Are the parts made entirely of stainless steel or is the aluminum coated with stainless steel?

There's only stainless steel on this! A set we love is a set we love. There is a tray that nests all the parts and a case that is really well-made.

A nonstick coating and a coating are the same thing, right?

Steel is the only material this set has, so it doesn't have any coatings

The granite ware pots in our Scout troop patrol boxes have slowly been replaced by this set over the decades
5/5

I have camped for 60 years. Purchasing another set is a must for us because everyone falls in love with these. When the bail handle is up, you can lift the pot without using a potholder (only if you remember to do so before In addition to a bail on each pot, it also has a hole so you can hang it over a campfire. This would allow you to cook over moderately hot Make cleanup easier by applying a thin coat of liquid dish soap over the bottom of the pan and halfway up its (outside) wall. . . . the pots nest easily together in their zippered carrying bag. *** The pots work best on a campfire than cast iron.

Lids are topped off with a small flat handle at the top of The lid usually can't be lifted without burning my fingers, which makes it difficult to use a potholder. However, I've found that I can usually lift it without burning my If you use a fork, you can lift the lid as well.

The biggest pot is large enough to cook a pack of spaghetti. At this price, the lids for each pot and the small storage profile are not bad for the trade-off. As well as being used as mixing bowls, they are also used for cooking. Simply spray the eggs in the pot with Pam, scramble them in the pot and voila! " I don't have to wash as many dishes. In addition, we have given up on our coffeepot and use the largest pot for heating water for instant coffee and hot chocolate in the morning. After two years of use on our first set, there are no dents after two years of use. These are not heavy duty pots, but they have held up well for Scout use. There are only two heat settings on one of our propane stoves A pan used for cooking milk and oatmeal (with butter) had scorch marks inside because it was set on fire and then melted. Then they lightened a bit after a good scrub with "Bar Keepers Friend. " They have not experienced any adverse effects as a result. This is referred to as an "experienced pot" in Scouting. When your stove is like ours, a fire tamer will help. It has not been a problem cooking foods like stew or scrambled eggs so long as the Scout does not get distracted and forget what.

There is a design flaw on the second page I received two sets where the issue was the same, which I think is a design flaw
3/5

I got the biggest pot, but responsive customer service. The second set of cards in each pair is It was impossible for the handle of the largest pot to reach all the way up without hitting its Due to the high lugs on the pot, there is no clearance between the flared rim and the straight part of the handle on either side. If they were welded 1/4" lower, the handle would clear the rim as it does with the other three sizes. *BIG UPDATE It has been determined that all the inventory on hand owned by the seller, RookyDeals, has the same problem, and they are in contact with In a few weeks, I can be put on a waiting list for a replacement when it becomes available or I can receive a partial refund. The 5 stars are awarded for good customer service. However, I have decided to wait for the replacement and will update when it arrives.

I gave it a thumbs up! Due to the things other dissatisfied reviewers wrote, I was concerned these pots might be faulty or disappoint me in some way
5/5

The situation did not turn out that way. We found this Wealer camping cookset to be completely wonderful, and there was not a single problem with it. I have lids that fit perfectly, and I have handles that work with them as well. It was a good decision to take a chance on

In addition, the bucket handles didn't seem like something that would work well with a tripod since they are so round, but this turned out to be a pointless concern as well. The handles of the buckets each have a large round hole in the center that can accept the pot hooks. I'm sorry,

If i were to buy another set for myself or to give them as a gift, I would do it. I'm sorry,

The cons are As for the carry case, I wish it did not come with long straps similar to those of a Tirdling and dangling are common problems with long strap handles. There would be a lot more traveling to do- We all would be more comfortable if the straps had been shortened and mounted to the sides of the bag.

You are doing a great job with these
5/5

It is a great product to use on camping trips. You are doing a great job with these. They have been purchased for use while camping and they are used only over direct fire. They are not In addition, I am pleased that they stack neatly within each other and can be stored inside a bag. Moreover, they are very durable and stand up to the heat of a campfire. It's easy for me to store them in the camping box. I found that the smallest one made a good amount of campfire coffee, about 6 cups.

I've scratched it! That's too bad
3/5

My camping trip in November was scheduled in September, and I ordered these pots then. In one pot and one lid, there were long scratches that exposed rough metal beneath the shiny surface after I washed them for the camping trip. Sadly, I waited too long to return it, so I cannot do so. In any case, they will get beaten up over time and use, while I am unsure if the deep scratches will turn to rust. One of the lids has a low profile handle and one will need a utensil to lift it, which is probably a good idea since it will be hot while In order to avoid lifting the lids of the four pots while you swing up and down the handles, it is a good idea to press down the lids as you swing the handles up and down. As can be seen by the seams around the bottom, these pots have 3/8'' thick bottoms. Despite the fact that each pot nestles within the others, it fits inside an attractive brown 11" round cloth - The box should be at least 6" deep and with two handles to make it easier to handle. While it may not be a true stainless steel test, the magnet was only stuck to the bottom of the container. There is a 5 lb. weight to it. It weighs 8 lbs with its carrying case, making it too heavy to carry on a backpack It's alright to camp in your car.

Camping pots that are perfect for the outdoors! An excellent set of pans that will come in handy while These are being used to replace the camping pot we currently have
4/5

As they are steel, they should be able to withstand high temperatures associated with campfires. It has a looped handle for tripod use as well, so that's an added bonus. The pots nestled snugly inside one another in the same way a nesting doll would. In addition to the set itself, there is a wonderful carrying bag included Made of quality materials, with a sturdy zipper, 2 secure handles, and sturdy handles. The only reason I gave it a 4 star review is that a few of the pots' lids do not fit well when the handles are raised, as one of the other reviewers mentioned. Having the handles bent slightly so they aren't as snug/close to the pot is a good and easy solution that we came up with. I have adjusted the lids to fit perfectly. These were bought for car and backpack camping, and I now realize that the whole set is a bit heavier than I originally thought it would be for backpacking. There is only a need for two (1 for cooking and 1 for boiling water), so that shouldn't be an issue.
