How big is the small bag? When it's folded, what happens to the backpack?

6' wide by 5" tall by 1 1/2" thick (as flat as possible). If it's compressed, you can get it to 3 x 3 inches. The best small travel backpack available!

Is it possible to fit my laptop in there as well?

I'm able to fit my 16 in there. Vertically, it fits a 6x11 inch laptop, with room for a few other items in the front and back. My HP laptop is a large and heavy machine. I'm worried about making the backpack too heavy, but so far that hasn't been an issue. I'm disabled and rely on poles to stay balanced. I don't drive and prefer to walk, so I take the bus and/or walk every day, and I carry my backpack with me. The advice given above in regards to padding appears to be sound-- That was an issue I hadn't considered. I do have a tablet with a protective case that would be better for "off the shelf" use.

In the case of high school/college textbooks, how much weight will this hold?

To be honest, I don't believe the fabric was created with the intention of being weightless. bearing. I believe that heavy objects, such as books, will quickly degrade it, and you will be disappointed with its performance as a result. The bag has a good amount of capacity, but I believe it's better suited to carrying light items (clothing, a water bottle, keys, a wallet, maps, and so on).

Is it possible to use a 32 oz nalgene in the water bottle holder?

Yes, I just tried it with my husband's 32 oz nalgene bottle and it worked perfectly.

That backpack is fantastic! I've now purchased three of these (one for myself and two as gifts) and have put them to good use. I've used it on two bus tours in Europe and the United Kingdom, and it's perfect for all the miscellaneous items you need while sightseeing. Water, snacks, a camera, a selfie stick, and a jacket are among the items I bring with me. On the outside, there's a spot for a water bottle that's easy to reach without having to remove the pack. There'll be plenty of space for mementos. I'm nearly 70 years old, and this pack is a breeze to put on and take off, and the weight is evenly distributed even when fully loaded. The backpack folds up into an inside pocket and is extremely light. In my suitcase, where every ounce counts, it is practically weightless. It shows no signs of wear and tear, and I anticipate that it will last for many more trips!.

REVIEW WAS UPDATED: The company proactively contacted me and offered to refund my money, so I'm updating my original review. (I'd brought the pack on vacation with me, and the red dye from my perspiration had leached into my clothes. ) br>br>I thought the pack was a good value for the money, and I was pleasantly surprised that the vendor contacted me after reading my review. Maybe my pack was defective, but I'd buy it again now, knowing that the vendor would make sure I was satisfied if something went wrong.

The strap snapped almost instantly

I bought it for my trip to Iceland because it was small and I only had a carry-on and knew I'd need a day bag for sightseeing. br>br>Because it folds up so small, it's perfect for hanging from the side of my bag. I went grocery shopping the moment I got my rental car in Iceland. I slung this backpack over my shoulder, stuffed it with my wallet, keys, and reusable water bottle, and the strap snapped! I was disappointed because I needed a day bag for my 12-day trip and it broke after only a minute of use! Fortunately, I was able to tie the straps as shown, but that side was rendered useless because I couldn't adjust it to be closer or farther away from my body. If you buy this, make sure everything is securely sewn before using it. This wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been for the fact that it was broken. I would have given it five stars if it could have withstood Iceland's ever-changing climate and folded up small enough to take with me when I left.

That's exactly what I was looking for

I recently took a Panama Canal cruise that stopped in Cartagena, Puerto Amador, Puntarenas, Huatalco, and Puerto Vallarta. I needed a lightweight, packable backpack, and this was it. It took up very little space in my suitcase, but I was able to fit a beach towel, bathing suit, snacks, water, and much more in it without difficulty. It appears to be well-made, and the only issue I had was that the straps loosened where they adjust, which I fixed by adjusting them and then tying a knot in the strap. I sponged it out when I got home, let it air dry, and now I'm ready to go on my next adventure. It's clear that it's not designed for heavy-duty use. My five-star rating is based on light-duty use, but it's ideal for excursions and day trips. Packability and duty use.

Backpacking, camping, and day hikes are all possible with this backpack

For backpacking and camping, I needed a small, light backpack. I used to carry a drawstring bag, but the weight was too much for my shoulders. This backpack is great for backpacking, camping, and day hikes because it packs down so small. This backpack is extremely tough and has been used on numerous mountain climbs. The straps are extremely comfortable, so this was not an issue. Overall, I think this backpack was a great buy, and I would recommend it to anyone.

The show is still going strong! This backpack was purchased in 2018, and it is now 2020. My family and I are huge amusement park fans, and this is one of our favorite places to visit. to bag. Two water bottles are carried on the side pockets, with several more inside, as well as snacks, sunscreen, and other necessities. Durable and light weight. I'm going on a trip soon and decided to buy another so that my husband and I can each have our own airline bag and day trip bag. The old bag is still in excellent shape. I realized it had been two years since I had left a review and felt compelled to do so. It's important to remember that it's only water resistant, not waterproof.
