My guess is based on something I read while looking at different options for purchasing: I'm not sure if that's the case in this case, but 5 yards is the measurement when it's stretched to its fullest length. Whatever the case may be, the advertised duration is perplexing and appears to be deceptive.
I just got my box out of the closet, and it has six rolls, each measuring 4 inches wide by 2 inches long. The length is 5 yards as shown in the photo, not as stated in the description.

This was purchased to protect stitches on my mare's face after an injury by bandaging her head. It was simple to use, was securely fastened, and stayed in place to protect her dressing. She wouldn't have done well if she had been confined to stall rest, so this allowed her to get some exercise while she recovered over a few weeks. Everything was fine after we covered the bandage with a fly mask. The wound was kept clean and dry despite the fact that it had been exposed to the elements. even when she was bathing in mud! br>br>points and suggestions: br>* Be sure to unroll and re-roll the paper. If you have to bandage your entire face (as I did), cut a window and re-bandage it. br>* If you have to bandage your entire face (as I did), it is best to cut a window and re-bandage it. Only the section above the wound should be used. It's a lot less traumatic and a lot easier, as I discovered the hard way. You can tape your gauze in place and to the section of tape that sticks to your horse's face (every day or every other day, depending on your veterinarian's instructions)- After about a week, I discovered that the rest of the bandage can be redone and comes off much easier. br>* Purchase additional supplies- You'll have to go through a lot more than you expect.
Each roll is 4 inches wide by 2 inches long. 5 yds is not the same as 5 yds. This fact is clearly stated on the outside of the box containing the 6 rolls; in other words, you are paying twice as much for the wrong item! Trying to persuade Amazon to understand that I should be paying half the price was futile. I had no choice but to use these rolls to wrap my dog's incision site after he had major cancer tumor removal surgery. Because it wouldn't stay in place, the vet wrap was ineffective. Elastikon is an outstanding product!.
This was bought to treat a nail through the foot injury on one of our horses. For the next four weeks, we had to change the bandage every other day. This elastic tape was part of a larger bandaging job that also included duct tape. This product impressed me so much that it has become a staple in our first-aid kits.
5 yds is stated in the product description. What arrived was number two. 5 yards. Only the replacement and return options are available on Amazon. I don't want to return the tape because I need it right now. I WILL NOT RETURN TO AMAZON TO PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.
The tape itself is excellent, but the description is dreadful. There are only two. Each roll contains 5 yards. I paid $60 in the mistaken belief that I would receive twice as much. Be careful who you buy from.
When my gelding was cast in his stall, he tore up his knee. Because the wound could not be stitched, it had to be wrapped for several weeks to heal. The bandage was kept in place by Elastikon, which kept it in place to protect the injury.
The product was great, but the seller was terrible! WARNING: There are only two of them. The ad says 5 yards, but it's actually 5 yards. The seller is refusing to address the problem and will not take any action. Because it's a J tape, it worked well. J is the product.
Excellent for hoof wrapping because it holds fast and doesn't fall off an active horse.
