One of my mother's nurses applied this two-layer combination to her legs while she was in the ICU a few years ago. She suffers from lymhedema and has seen a number of doctors over the years, none of whom had suggested this treatment. She had previously had an "una boot," which was far more difficult to manage and necessitated frequent follow-up visits. So, four years after that ICU visit, we're still using the coban system, and it's kept her mobile by reducing swelling and providing the stability she requires to walk. Of course, consult your doctor first, but as I previously stated, this was brought to our attention by a very attentive and proactive nurse. And I owe her a great debt of gratitude.
It was simple to wrap the item - If you're not sure what to do, simply watch the online video. We couldn't leave it on for more than three days without seepage, even when I used a wound dressing. The kit provided enough materials for one application but not enough for two, and none of the materials were reusable. I started looking for lower-cost vendors right away. Other manufacturers who did the same job could easily find the outer layer. For the inner comfort layer, however, I could not find anything comparable in my hometown or online. Despite our best efforts, the stasis ulcer did not heal, and we were forced to seek treatment from a specialist. Those visits, of course, came at a much higher price.
This was an excellent opportunity. Compression hose or socks are ineffective or inconvenient for large edematous legs. Other products were painful and irritating because they cut into the leg. These were effective at reducing edema and were gentle on the skin, which was extremely sensitive and delicate.
Excellent compression technique. Controlling edema helped me heal my wounds faster.
It was said to be ideal!.
The Coban 2 wraps were exactly what I was looking for. They arrived quickly, but I wish they had been a little less expensive. Apart from that, everything went smoothly.
This bandage system was the best for the condition of the legs due to some leg wounds associated with leg swelling. Although the price is high, it can be used for several days if the legs are not weeping excessively.
