Questions & Answers

When the gauge is lit up at night, what color does it glow? Is there any indication that the bulbs on Faria's website can be replaced based on the images? Is that correct?

There is no yellow light like older incandescent bulbs it is a nice white light. Can you let me know if the LEDs are active or not? Those are the reasons it appears to be

Would the pilot tube work with this product?

Could you please provide me with information about the 'Pilot tube' you refer to in your question? In my boat, I had an old-fashioned speedometer in addition to a tube running from a fin at the back to a dash on the dash. Due to the fact that the speedometer does not utilize it, I sealed off this tube at the dash (water gushes out while motoring). Speedometers that use GPS are very easy to install, since they only require connecting the proper wires (for the battery, ignition, nav lights, and ground), and they compute speed based on satellites. You can use it in your car just like a GPS. Please note Because GPS uses your location, it does not necessarily refer to your speed on the water, but to your speed across the globe (land speed). When you are traveling upstream and downstream on a river, your speed is going to be different! (The real water speed upstream will be the speedometer reading PLUS the speed of water current (the speed of the land plus the If you are going downstream, the reading will be your current speed MINUS the speed of the water. Driving upstream and downstream at the same speed, you will notice that this speedometer will read various speeds, recording the highest and lowest speeds, and half of this difference will be the river current speed. Snow skiers or boarders are only interested in water speed, and WILL notice the difference in water speed. When it comes to GPS speedometers, lakes are best.

In order to replace my old Faria gauge with a new one, I need to find out what the best option is. Is there anything I should buy in addition to this GPS Speedometer?

It is extremely easy to install the GPS Speedometer, as it has four wires coming from the unit that require no external antenna.

There is a 35-foot fountain boat I own. You need a GPS system that has a white accent and is capable of reading What are the options you have for GPS that will fit ?

Even when the speed is shown down to one mph, the needle moves very slowly and lags behind the actual speed adjustment by a significant amount, so it doesn't work for me
4/5

Upon arrival the ground wire on the item had a bad terminal crimp, so the item was deemed to be After contacting the factory about replacing the cord and plug, they sent me a replacement cord and plug quickly and with no questions. The customer service was excellent!

The product looks great and functions well. The only down side is that due to the needle's slow movement and slow response to speed changes, it lags way behind during the initial launch, and it would have been nice if it were able to adapt a bit faster to speed changes The lag makes me give it only 4 stars, but it still reads down to one mile per hour, and appears to be relatively accurate once the lag is removed. Beginner drivers may have a difficult time getting used to the lag.

This is an awesome device! I'm not having pitot issues anymore, this thing works great! It works well &amp is very easy to use This process can take up to 5 minutes Once it has been turned on, it takes a maximum of 10 seconds to read speed
4/5

A stepping motion is not possible with the needle, as it does not sweep 100% smoothly. Despite the fact that the steps are so small, it is not even noticeable, but I wanted to make that point anyway. It would seem that * is the best guess. A speed of 2 mph is possible. Each move of the needle will speed up the speedometer by 3mph. A lot of precision for wakeboarding, skiing, solemn, etc.
The only negative (& It's just me being nit-picky Picky) would be if it had a built-in camera and sound system A reading of the LCD display is provided in degrees. Sometimes, if you're going not more than 50 mph and that's what you'll see, it might be confusing for you. Ahead of N I'm not happy with NE 50* or more. If there was a way to turn it off or to change it to mph, I would appreciate it very much I have the older bulb style gauges, so the colors are off compared to the backlit LCD. This is not a major issue, but just to let you know. Despite the fact that this is much more expensive than the original speedo, it is still an excellent product in the overall look & feel. What I would have liked to have been able to get one earlier!.
