Questions & Answers
As long as the distance between the seat and handle bars does not exceed 31 inches, it will fit just fine. With no issues, I use it on all types of 29er mountain bikes and women's bikes.
I found this to be strange as well. For me, the solution was to ensure that the ends were firmly tucked up against the seat bottom and handlebars. You should ensure that the crossbar is laying flat on the cradle and that the weight is tethered to the crossbar It will be firmly held in place by the down straps. I wish you the best of
In most situations, it doesn't need to be taken apart because there is an internal stop. I have not had to take the tube apart yet. Most of the time I use mine to hang my bikes on a Park stand so I can work on them at a comfortable angle and height.
Most bikes can be leveled on a rack using this adapter. Attaches to the goose neck under the handle bars and attaches to the seat post at the opposite end.

In theory, that's great -- as long as those bikes have a lot of space between the seat post and the handlebar stem, which is not the case for most women's bikes (unless a woman is extremely The required bike length was nearly 1" too short for this TubeTop adapter to work on my Specialized women's hybrid bike in a medium (I have a long torso). If you were to buy this bike in its large size, the distance would be too short. Plus, Specialized is a popular brand of bike that fits most men's bikes, but you may find that it's too long if you own a women's hybrid. Since the product appeared to be well made, but had an inaccuracy in the description, I was deeply disappointed.
Let me just say that I am a huge fan of Yakima racks and everything about them. This solid, reliable product will not let you down. I almost tipped my bike over on the highway due to this top tube. This is the third day I use it a week. I've had it for about a year now. By the time I got to my destination today I was barely able to hold on to my bike. The handle bar was hanging down by itself after twisting right out of the front bracket and There needs to be a serious redesign of these to ensure that the locking bars can't break off. That was the case with mine.
It made sense for me to use Yakima Bike Tube as I have Yakima rack, however, I was surprised that it does not have springs. In the beginning I was wondering if the product was defective. Watching a few videos on how to put it on, I determined that it wasn't specifically designed to have it. I have a second tube I own, but unlike the other one it does not have a spring to give tension. It only has a spring at the latch, so it needs to be pressed down to open or close As far as I can tell, it carries my bike without issue, which might indicate that spring tension is not as important as I had thought?.
My twins have 16 inch bikes, and I purchased this crossbar in order connect them to my Yikama hit rack, but unfortunately, I found that it was too large for the kids bikes. I wish the description included which kids bike size this crossbar would fit. As a crossbar, this one seems sturdy enough to work on longer bikes, and it would work on most other longer bikes as well.
Having a platform rack for my vehicle, this extender was created specifically for mounting my carbon fiber bikes on my work stand. It has worked beautifully for me thus far. I am glad I spent the extra money on it, as it is a lot more durable and fantastic looking than I actually needed. It is simple for me to slide my bike up into the stand after locking the bar into the stand. Simply lock the stand into place like you would with a key. Although this approach allows the bike to swing, it hasn't been a problem so far, and that's not the extender's fault. I would recommend this to others who have trouble locking onto their carbon frames and do not have enough space on the seat tube of their bikes.
I also got the Nissan Rogue as a gift to celebrate my new vehicle. My favorite rack is for a different review, but I am in love with it. So, today, I loaded the bikes onto the rack for the very first time. I have to admit this adapter is a whole lot better than the old ones we had years ago when my kids were small. In addition to the rubberized ends, the seat stem and handlebar post fit very well around the handlebar post, which was a pleasant surprise for me. There is a big problem with the opening mechanism for me as it is very difficult to use. That is impossible. You have to press tiny buttons into tiny holes to enable the movable end on each end to open. You must be strong and have steel thumbs to do it. The thought of doing it makes me nauseous. The pain in my hands is excruciating. In addition, my 22-year-old daughter found it hard to do as well. It was no easy feat, but she did it. The solution needs to provide me with what I am looking for. Anyway, when we were loading the bikes on the rack, it became quite apparent that my bike needs an adapter as well. To order another one I went back online to Amazon to look for There really didn't seem to be any major differences in the features of the adaptors. It is true that opening mechanisms across all models are the same. But have you ever wondered how it could be? There is no such thing as a free lunch! Better designs have been developed by other companies! In order to use the Swagman Bar Adapter Deluxe on my bike, I purchased it as well. My Yakima could also be returned if I'm not happy with it. made so many changes to their bicycle racks recently, making them more outstanding than ever, making them easier to use - You should use the It appears that the adapters are stuck in time. They are pretty much the same as always, despite how hard it is to open them. It is hoped that they will understand the message and make this seemingly simple device even better than its While I'm at it, I'm taking part in the competition.
The adapter works great and I'm very happy with it. We feel very confident about the Yakima unit since it feels solid and heavy. It is also covered in a rubber/plastic coating which seems solid, so the bike will not be scratched or damaged by metal to metal contact. I was also interested in the Allen adapter because it has a spring to keep tension when installed, while the Yakima does not. Yakima was the right choice for me for two reasons This Yakima unit has completely closed ends that I use with my Yakima Ridgeback Hitch carrier. As I was new to using the Yakima unit, I thought I would use one from the same manufacturer of the carrier, simply to avoid any potential issues. The rubberized ends grip the bike well enough that I have not seen it move in the bar after driving it. The Yakima is worth more than the Allen unit, but is it really worth the cost difference? Because I have not actually used the Allen unit, I can't honestly answer that but I feel like I received a good deal for my money spent on.
