There is a slight difference in the size of the cross tray and the base spine of the XT versions. It makes it possible to fit a variety of Fat Bike styles with this offset. The frame design of fat bikes is constantly changing, and we must be able to accommodate
Yes, I have that rack and my electric assist fits on it.
You're welcome. Thule will check for you. As long as you have a 2" receiver hitch, it will work.
As far as a spare tire mount is concerned, it will not work since the distance between the horizontal plane and the hitch mount is too short. Please consider our 963 PRO Thule Spare Me mounting kit for spare tires.

It's amazing how well Rack works. Cars can be loaded very easily onto the rack, and bikes can be very easily loaded onto it. *cough* I went ahead and put my 29'er mountain bike on it, and it fit well. *cough* Now here's my secret tip, one that I can't believe Thule doesn't incorporate into their rack (if they ever make it) have always wondered why all drivers drive with racks attached to their cars, yet don't have a bike. That's probably because the racks are heavy and cumbersome to move on and off the cars (or they just like to be noticed). It was an inconvenience to not be able to attach a receiver to my car, so I looked up my local hitch place and they did what I needed. A $6 castor wheel I bought from a hardware store on the way was on my way. To affix it to the rack, I gave it to the place that sold hitches. As a result, I no longer have to carry this 60lb chunk of metal between my garage and the car when I'm taking it off or putting it on. All I have to do is put it on by wheeling it over. The entire process is made much easier this way.
While I was sitting in my vehicle waiting to go riding with my friends, I noticed my bike had been stolen from the bike in In this case, the bike was secure with a padlock on the strap and a cable locked into the It took the thief only seconds to steal the bicycle, since it was cut and removed. Having been able to observe what was happening being struggled with the thief only when he was removing the arm arm to get off the bike. When I called Thule, they were not available. SOMETHING LIKE "We use inferior cabling and straps to give the buyer a false sense of security," was their reply. recommend that you buy a $40 bike rack at Harbor Freight that cannot be cut in 2-seconds with you in the vehicle, and use a chain that cannot be cut in 2-seconds with you in the vehicle too. A PRODUCT THAT DOES NOT REWARD YOU FOR THE MONEY YOU PAY IS NOT VALUE FOR MONEY. You are not receiving the security described in the brochure, and you are instead given a false sense of security. A $5 cable cutter caused damage to parts of the computers and they want $300 to repair it in under 2 minutes.
Here is my solution to the weight problem. All the details are important on this rack, from the strength to the durability The rack is easy to install without any tools, has a handle on the outside to lower it for trunk access, and is totally stable, even while moving fast. As far as we can tell, the whole system seems to be very well built and gives us confidence that it will last. I can only think of one negative the weight. As you may have seen already, the biggest obstacle is the weight. It may be robust, but it's confusing and hard to move My solution was inspired by the one used by the other user that welded a caster wheel underneath the rack, but I needed a way to store the rack, so I came up with another option. The base was made of steel and welded with a square of 2 inches with a right angle, as shown in the photos below. originally wanted four casters on the base, but then found a ready-to-roll one. Rather than just wheels, I used a square dolly which is more economical than wheels only). I may not be able to go to and from the car as easily, but the handling is much better now that everything is so well balanced, takes up the smallest space, and I can move it much easier.
They seem to be in good shape at first glance I designed it. I was so confident that I had the cable lock in place when I tried to pull it out, only to discover that it was held together by a thin plastic tab so that at the first pull it broke off completely. It is important to note that the cable itself holds no weight whatsoever. As a security matter we will refrain from using it as it was only cosmetic.
The bike rack I selected was the result of months of research and I am glad I decided on it. A bike rack like this is great! In my Mercedes GL450, I use it for backing up. The bike stand is easy to install and take off, and it holds both my Cerevelo triathlon bike as well as my husband's Trek bike with no problems. We really do not have to do anything more once they are on. For both of our bikes, it takes just over 5 minutes to put the rack in the hitch, lock it in, and load and lock the bikes Although it took a little bit more time the first two or three times, we can now do it quite In case you need to open the back door before pulling the rack down or removing your bikes, the rack can be pulled down so it does not get in the way. The rack is also equipped with a lock for the part of the hitch that secures to the hitch, as well as for the bike. I have been driving with it for over 6 hours with no issues whatsoever. As soon as they are on, they stay on! We are thrilled with how it looks on the back of the car and it has been a wonderful Before investing my money in it, I am glad I had the time to research it. The bike rack was a great purchase and I do not regret it at all.
So far, the bike rack holds bikes properly, but sadly, the mechanism for tilting has broken after only a few We loaded up the bikes in the back of the car, then we removed them from the car and the bikes would not fold. Pulling the handle produces a clicking sound and lets you see something in the housing move, but it seems as though something else has slipped or has become jammed because it will not The platform rack can't be folded so now I am stuck with an overpriced unit. Due to the restriction of the road at the lot where we park, it is impossible to leave it extended there, so for the last two weekends of summer, I will not be able to bring the kids to the trail or boardwalk to go biking. Secondly, thule support isn't open on the weekends and I have to wait another two days for you to even get to helping me. I have been disappointed to the point of extreme.
