Questions & Answers

Is there a locking feature on this pad?

As far as locking the tailgate pad to the truck, or to itself while it's attached to the truck, the answer is no. It's simply attached to the tailgate with a few straps that allow it to be tightened and secured so that it won't come off. Taking this tailgate cover out of the box is a nice upgrade from other tailgate covers I've had, and it does feel more robust with better padding to protect the vehicle, although the locking mechanism is missing.

In one review, it was stated that the tailgate cover could scratch the tailgate if used on a ram 1500. Does anyone know for sure if this is ?

No, I don't own a Ram truck, so I am unable to confirm this. My GMC Sierra 2500 is covered by this cover. Taking all of that into account, I can't see why the cover would scratch any truck's tailgate. A soft material is used in making it. One of these covers could possibly have had threads or material left on it if it was not properly removed, and that is why the scratch appears. It's hard to say. I'd normally say that it should be ok on almost any truck, but this is hard to say.

Is this pad compatible with the Honda Ridgeline Gen1 model and if it doesn't fit, can it be returned without charge?

With the new Race Face T2 pad, any tailgate shape can be accommodated, and it comes with an adjustable The features are RF exclusive and have a patent pending status. The bike carrier allows you to pull 6 bikes in peace without a crime on the bike because of the raised bumpers and There's a new shuttle service called Freedom.

What size does this fit on a Ford F-150 2018 Is 150 right?

A large trick wheel should fit an F150. I have a s/m trick wheel on my Tacoma, which works fine but is unlikely to fit a large trick wheel on an F150

The bike isn't held straight by the stand
3/5

The quality of the product is poor. You should stay away from this mat at all costs. This mat does not deserve its glowing reviews. There is just no way to keep the bikes straight with it. This bike is only held together by a thin Velcro strap that isn't sufficient to hold the bike upright. You flip the bikes as soon as you turn as you drive. Taking 5 slow doesn't hurt either, even if it's super slow The speed limit is 10 mph. Make sure you are aware of what you are purchasing. My return of this mat has been scheduled. Even though it's not totally useless, there is a risk of having hundreds of dollars wiped out in damage to your bikes or truck.

Product well worth your money Jeep Gladiator just won't be able to handle it
4/5

A few things really made me want to like this product. First of all, it is made The stitching is very good, the material is thick, and the foam padding is very There is only one issue Fits a Jeep Gladiator but not a Toyota Highlander. My first concern is that the pad overlaps the latching mechanism enough to make latching really difficult. I found a way around it by using zip-tie ties on one side and tape on the other A series of ties that would pull the material away from the lathe mechanism enough for it to latch onto the gate However, the height proved to be a problem. If you pull the Raceface pad down far enough to clear the Gladiator back, you can see in the image that if you push it up it will fall down once again. There's an up camera above the gate, but it's at an odd angle It looks to me as if it is an inch or two too short for the fold of the pad to align with said, I would like to add the following While it looked OK before I lowered the straps, it turned out to not be so great. It obstructed the handle of the lift gate (avoiding the position of the tailgate pad, which would have obscuring the camera for the I wanted to make sure I was I think this is a great product. They should make it in a smaller size so I could buy it The current placement of the latches and tail lights, as well as the cutout for the rear camera/gate latch, makes the car appear crowded and hard to drive. This is not a good Gladiator game.

This product would be a great fit for Tacoma
5/5

I appreciate your thoughtfulness- You can find out more about our system here. A perfect fit on my 2019 Toyota This is a really nice looking car. They did a really good job making the backing camera flap There is a lot of thought behind this system, which keeps the bicycles incredibly When riding my bicycle every day, I do not need to use the straps to keep it in place. Although they are not great for bumpy roads or long trips, they do make for comfortable riding. The material for the main body appears to be very durable. My straps spend all day in the sun on my truck, so I hope they are made of some UV resistant nylon. In Phoenix, Arizona, I live in a very sunny climate, so the straps of my last tailgate bad were destroyed by the sun in less than six After trying several different kinds of straps, I decided to use some black ratchet straps which were far superior to the originals. Which aspects of the system The best thing would be if they made it easier to take it off when you aren't using it with an attachment system. In my opinion it's a pain to run the straps around the tailgate, but it's simple enough to do. It would be great if there was an easier method.

Seth brought it to my attention! The original S/M was purchased after seeing Seth's Bike Hacks (Berm Peak)
5/5

There is no way to know what size of pickup fits because it was so It is a bit too small for my RAM 1500, so I ordered a large, which is still a bit small but does the job. As others have said, its negatives are the size and price, and it covers my backup camera. These are only minor inconveniences nonetheless, as the bike rack securely secures my bike, protects my frame/stanchions and truck with adequate protection, and the installation process was simple. It was impossible to possibly be any easier than this to strap your bike with the straps. Anyone who had trouble securing their bike either installed the pad wrong or they have a defective pad.

The quality of the product is excellent
3/5

It barely covered even part of the tailgate of the Honda Ridgeline, especially for a truck that size. An old Medium version of the T2, which is much bigger than the T2, belongs to my friend. I bought this one because I thought it would be a no-brainer because it is of such high quality, but it does not fit.

This is a well-made product
4/5

Despite making use of the instruction manual, the product is very well made. It would have been helpful if instructions had been provided for installation. There are a few areas where it seems to be a bit tight, especially on modern trucks with thicker tailgates.

That's great
5/5

The 2021 Toyota Tacoma is compatible with this part. Using this pad, I have been able to carry three mountain Standing straight and working well, they stand out from the crowd. Their stance stays straight even when they overland. There is no need to use it in a way that doesn't keep the bike straight for those who claim otherwise.

Everything seems to be going well so far
5/5

As of today, I have only had this on my '17 Tacoma for a short while, but so far it has worked very well. By holding our bikes very steady, we avoid knocking them into each other while biking. Kids' bikes (16" and 20") fit over the tailgate well, as the downtube straps are too long for the smaller bikes. I run a long bungee cord through the frames of kids' bikes to help them stay in place as the downtube straps are too short.
