Questions & Answers
The Transfer V2 is what you're looking for. It's a slight improvement over the original transfer. It's a very sturdy bike rack.
The single bike rack can be seen there. There is a two-bike rack available. I own one, and I adore it. The two-bike rack is fantastic! For the two bike rack, Kuat makes extension add-ons. I'm not sure if there are any for the single bike rack.

The Kuat T222b is designed for a 2" hitch receiver and comes with cable locks, which is the same question I have. I'm hoping that someone from Amazon will be able to shed some light on the situation.

I had to remove the rack from the top of the car to go to the carwash, which was a major operation in itself. It goes without saying that going for a bike ride was a huge pain! The Kuat is a huge improvement because it's so easy to remove and replace. Mounting the bike is almost effortless, and I'm excited to go on many rides with it this year. br>br>The Kuat is a high-quality product that is simple to put together and install on a vehicle. Its build quality is excellent, as all of the components fit together perfectly. The only thing I would suggest is that the screws holding the arm pucks to the frame be outfitted with washers. They'll sink into the plastic if they're over-tightened. Another concern I have is that unscrewing the pivoting screw can remove the entire carrier, minus the part inserted into the trailer hitch. For that screw, I'm looking for a way to lock it in place. All other carriers, I believe, are experiencing the same problem. There is no better rack in its price range!.
For tension, each button should have a spring beneath it. One of the handles' springs was loose inside its casing, rendering the button and handle useless. There is no way to access the spring to reseat it because the casing it is contained in is riveted shut. I now have to return a $400 bike rack due to what could have been a simple fix if the handle casing had been screwed or clipped shut instead of riveted, allowing access to the spring. As a result, the handle is poorly designed.
Everything about it appeals to me except the use of the provided skinny hitch pin. The bike rack receiver's large hole does not match the hitch receiver's large hole. As a result, you won't be able to use a 5/8" hitch pin. For added security, I have a locking hitch pin, but I was unable to use it. I'm going to ream the holes in the bike rack to match the holes in my hitch.
After I overtorqued it and broke it, I received a free rattle tool. The Kuat customer service was fantastic; otherwise, be careful not to overtorque the anti-lock brakes. Kuat has provided a specific allen tool for you to rattle screw with. So far, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 star rating.
For the past year, I've been using the Kuat Transfer 1 bike rack, and it's been fantastic! I took a chance on the 2 bike and was not disappointed. The design of the adjustable tension inside the vehicle hitch was well thought out and executed beautifully, making it simple to assemble and install. Very sturdy and fits perfectly in my car. There aren't any rattles or bounces. I'm very pleased with the results, and I strongly suggest it!.
This has taken the place of a five-year-old Yakima - This is far superior to the Yakima. br>Lighter, better materials, and a better design - This company is truly innovative in everything they do, including packaging. br>It's VERY difficult to put certain pieces together because they fit so tightly, but once they're put together, they work flawlessly.
I had to return a Saris in order to get this, and I'm glad I did. Design that is lovely, clever, and elegant. Pure functionality, exactly what I'm looking for. It is more compact than the Saris and fits more closely to the vehicle. Mine is used to tow a Jayco trailer and a BMW Z3 roadster. I've driven 1000 miles with the trailer and have encountered no problems.
This is an incredible rack. Would have given it five stars if it wasn't for the fact that if you get the 1-star rating, you get the 1-star rating. The pin hole in the 1/2 inch version is offset from its normal position in order to work with the adapter. This means that you can only use the small pin that comes with the package, not a locking pin. (Perhaps the pricey lock that Kuat sells is compatible?) I would have purchased the 2 inch version if I had known this.
