I had been using a roof mounted bike carrier system prior to making this purchase. However, I did have two accidents when my bikes fell sideways and caused mild damage to my SUV even though I did not think it was difficult. I realized a hitch carrier would be the best choice when I realized there was a high likelihood of needing my hitch to do something else while carrying bikes as well. The Kuat NV Base 2 is an advanced product from Kuat. The design of 0 is stunning on all counts. From the first glance, one can tell that the build quality is excellent. As far as bike carrying is concerned, Kuat has thought it through very thoroughly. You do not need to shell out more money for the NV to carry any adult bike. You can mount and remove the device very quickly and easily. As well as a locking hitch pin, the rack has integrated cable locks for your bikes They were all keyed in the same way.
There's more that I could say, but in honesty, I think the Kuat NV2 is a great product. There is no need to sell the 0 series. The decision was made without regret.
I find it surprising that the single locking arm can secure a bike with such precision, but, hey, it works. The installation is easy and the directions are clear. Due to its weight of 75 pounds, it takes two people or an individual much stronger than me to attach and remove it. The only thing I wish Kuat did was make other products These racks resemble Apples, or OXOs, of the bike rack world.
(1) The receiver tightening feature of the rack really secures it to the car's hitch receiver and virtually eliminates wobbling and rattling (2) it's very, very easy to load and unload bikes (3) the receiver hitch lock There is one thing I don't like it doesn't play well with a Jeep Wrangler's tailgate, but I knew that before I purchased it. The bike rack pivot sold by Kuat allows the entire system to move out of the way if it becomes an obstruction.
Using this bike rack is a convenient way to travel with bikes. The fact that there are so many locks is appealing to us. In addition to locking the hitch to the rack, the bike rack has its own cable lock for locking your bike on the rack. There is a decent amount of length to the cables. We can open the back of our car without taking the bikes out of the car thanks to its tilt. You can unload and load up in no time. This is quite a sturdy and heavy duty product! Getting it up and running can be a bit tedious, but it is easy overall. Over the Thule, this is definitely the better option. The price is high, but it is.
One tire strap extender was included in the package for my e-bike but I was disappointed in the amount of included rubber They were bicycle tires, but did not come with the 24" & smaller tire adapters. There was a note at the back of the manual telling you to call for the small tire adaptors, which are on their way. But, the extender straps are out of stock. My previous Kuat had all of those features. When advertising an electric bike, be sure to include the following information When you ship bike extenders for larger tires, it seems like you would also send both extenders.
There are two scratches on it already and one of the retainer belts is broken. I think I got an open box product.
I like this bike rack very much. The design of the platform is easy to load, looks nice, and won't damage most bikes (I especially like bikes with weird Having a solid (heavy) feel to it. These facts will stand the test of time.
