The bike is attached to the bike beside it with 3 straps 1 at each tire, 1 at the frame and 1 strap at the frame. A broken strap will keep the bike on the rack even if the bike is not to be moved.
Having been an avid biker for 35 years, I began with fork mount roof racks, a few upright roof racks, then upright hitch racks, and finally The easiest way to lift are the hands down platform racks since there is very little lifting an HR Sportrider 2, and although it's a great rack, it's not compatible with all kinds of bikes. I bought another expensive brand platform rack that clamped to the front wheel. As sturdy as the rack was, it was just too heavy to install and remove every time (I only install the rack when I go biking and remove it when I return When browsing the web - In search of an HR Destination 2, I discovered it was on a low cost and decided to try it. I am now all smiles due to the simplicity of it all. There is only 20 pounds of weight on the rack. This means that I do not have to lay on my back installing it This gadget can be folded flat against the vehicle, so that I can keep it in the car overnight for a ride the next morning. This comes with a hitch lock and key (other brands make it an optional accessory, although I never understood why locking your rack from theft would make sense? )* Fits any size frame, even fenders-equipped bikes. Because the bike is tightly mounted to the rack with the help of the 3 mounting points (downtube, wheels), the bike won't jump off. I bought this rack for 1/3 the price of my heavy duty platform rack, and it does everything as well if not better than my heavy duty rack.
Specifically, I wanted a 3-out of 5 We used to use a Thule Pro2 but switched to this bike rack. While this rack works well, it is not as good as a Thule or a Unfortunately, I bought it, as it was currently available. It should be assembled with extreme care, so make sure that it works before signing You can check the directions. Creating a mix up between the inner and outer sections is easy. That would not be a big deal, but the hex bolts which hold them down are super cheap, and tend to tear easily. Before you tighten the bolts, make sure everything is in the right place. It would be safe to say that the rack on the car is pretty sturdy. There is a little play and bounce in this rack, but that's to be expected. In fact, it will hold four full-size dining tables Almost all mountain bikes can be found with suspension. The Thule is less difficult to load and secure, but the Thule is more difficult to load and secure. Positioning the pedals, lining up the center, and putting the pedals in the correct position require precision. When you have the frame strap angled just right, you're ready to go. Though it will get easier with practice, with a Thule it was as simple as slapping in a plug and getting going. One fairly long trip and the bikes were secure.
After one fairly long trip, it was the same. As far as the rack is concerned, it The directions could be made more clear so I would have given it an additional star.
The bikes were loaded multiple times. ## UPDATE ## The bikes were loaded Through all four bicycles, I have racked up a lot of miles. There is no doubt that this rack is strong! Once you have it down, it is pretty easy to load and unload. THIS IS THE RACK YOU NEED IF YOU NEED TO TRAVEL 4 bicycles!.
I like this bike rack very much. I took about ten minutes to write it. The rack fits snugly into the hitch and is securely fastened. A nice touch is the lock that comes with the hitch pin. I can secure my bikes with a variety of frames using the center mast. I have also stepped through for my wife. Using the ratchet straps, the wheels are secured tightly. A photo of the Dale in the rear position was included to make it easier to take pictures. It should instead go in the position closest to the vehicle if it is hauling just one bike. This rack is solid and sturdy!.
Observations are my own, and are not influenced by any outside parties. During the process of taking it out of the box, one of the pegs broke. Once it was reinstalled, the bolt that was tacked on broke. This bolt is required for the rack to lock onto the hitch securely, otherwise it will not sit securely. Despite the fact that it has the potential for being a good rack, it illustrates that this company is not proud of its work.
