Questions & Answers

Do I need to buy a separate rack for toddler bikes?

There is enough room on the rack for my daughter's 12" bike. The truck had to be maneuvered a little in order for it to fit in the second spot (it was the first one). In the end, I plan to put it on the spot closest to the truck, probably on the other side of the vertical post. However, just because this bike fits does not mean that yours will, because there are many types

Can a rear tire of a Wrangler be cleared by this?

You can mount four bicycles on the rack, but that is not the case for the fifth bicycle, which is mounted on the back of the rack I hope that

Is there a way to take the bike on and off?

Our solution is to lift the bike from the rack and keep the rack raised, which can be a little tricky, By tying it down, muscle tension can be saved but attaching it seems more challenging.

Can it be used to replace a spare tire on a Jeep Wrangler?

makes sense for my 2009 Jeep Wrangler, as the rack fits with the spare tire intact. The space on the inside of the rack is a little tight, but you can use it to fit your bike, you just need to juggle your weight a bit. This rack works great on the Jeep and we use it to haul 5 bikes almost all the time. It's the only downside that it doesn't allow you to open the tailgate farther than few inches. However, there are no other problems with it.

There are five adult bikes that are fit for use
5/5

The task was completed by me. Certainly it can be done. I have updated the contents of the post (1/21/2019). The following update has been posted A product that made it through 9,000 miles of travel over 60 days with five adult bikes on the back held up amazingly! The fan in me can't help but smile. The five bikes are all compatible with each other. The ride was a success, and I didn't damage other wheels by ramming the handle bars or pedals into their spokes. The question of whether it can hold five bikes is not clear to me. In this case, the KEY is Orient the bikes so they face the right way. It is NOT possible for them all to go straight up and down. You will have to stack them at different angles, using the different parts of the cross members. The straps can rotate around the bar because of this.
We are going on a long RV trip in the summer and needed a 5-star hotel that can accommodate our needs You can bike on the A four-player Allen four-player game was already in place It was awesome, and I absolutely loved it. For this one, it took a little longer to figure out how to fit all 5 bikes (all adult bikes! It is easy to set up each time we move to the next site (every two weeks or so), so I took pictures of everything and created a tutorial to help us hook them up, so it is whenever we move to the next site. The four days are in the past). You can see in the attached pictures how I oriented each bike, what it looked like when it was mounted, how well it fit, and how well it was situated (Bike 1 is closest to the The downsides of the technology are 1) The handle bar of the first bike (the one closest to the vehicle) hits the back wall of our RV on the right side. 3) The first bike attachment is a little difficult. If you were to hook the bike on normally (parallel to the ground), then you could not put the bike on the strap holder without pulling the tilting pin, which would force the unit to pivot away from the RV. The bike will be strapped on (installed from the vehicle side), then the unit will rotate back into place after the locking pin is replaced. It's just strange, but I installed Bike #1 differently, so I cannot consider this *I hope that sharing this helps others grasp the idea that it is possible to rack five bikes securely, tie them down, and not have them bump into one another. As soon as I encounter any issues after hauling them around the US for two months, I will update this post. I would give this two thumbs up otherwise.

It seems that the arms do not lock up the same when they are lowered as they do when they are raised? If you like In the first place, it is well constructed and sturdy
3/5

I particularly like how the mounts can be rotated to fit whatever angle your bike requires. A good locking mechanism appears to be used for the hitch. It is awesome that the hitch can be installed without tools. A series of quick release features are available on this rack. tilting back of the back to access the hatback is nice. However, the quick release to lower the arms is completely inappropriate. The rack is indeed a great setup when the arms are out. As the arms are raised, everything just clicks into place. My favorite feature is this one. It's still true. The following are the reasons why I only gave it three stars. A wind chime in a thunderstorm might be a metaphor for what happens if the arms of the rack are lowered so they do not stick out. I don't understand why the arms don't have a second set of holes that could lock them in place and keep them from wobbling while they're As the car moves in any direction, they shake, and click back and forth. There is such a ridiculous oversight that could be easily repaired with a set of pinholes, much like the ones that secure the arms when they're in the carry positions. My mind is boggled as to how this product made it through any kind of testing or customer feedback phase without this coming up repeatedly. The fact that such a nice bike rack has such a glaring oversight or mistake in its design is disappointing. To keep it from driving me insane, I'll need to use a bungee cord or strap of some kind. Except for that, a good, solid bike rack will do.

There are no indications of a problem with the product as previously reported
5/5

This is a fantastic product and is very well built. I installed this on my 2005 Honda Pilot and found the tilting mechanism both easy-to-operate and sufficient to clear the opening of the hatch. After having read the reviews prior to purchasing, I would like to add a few observations. Bikes for toddlers are not compatible with the rack. Currently, our family possesses two adult bikes, one bike for an eight year old, and two bikes for twins who are five years old. The smaller twins' bikes would not fit at all on this new rack and I found out this when mounting the bikes. However, the good news is that they still fit inside the car, and eventually they will need bigger bikes that will fit The second paragraph. Using the straps should not result in residue or black powder rubbing off on your hands. There were several reviews of this complaint, and perhaps this was due to an older design issue, but with the product I just received, I did not experience any of these 2.
Structured loops are at the base of the rack so a cable lock or other security solution can be attached. Several customers seemed to have suggested that the bikes should be able to be locked to the mounting rack in some way in the reviews, and I was glad to see that mine had the capability as well. As a result, the hitch lock I have does not fit the pre-existing hitch lock that secures my rack to the hitch only with nuts and bolts The rack has been drilled with holes. In other words, I need to buy a new hitch lock or drill a new hole. Rather than a smaller diameter hole, make a larger one. The bikes were secured with cable locks and a U-lock in the end If you have a lock, there is probably a nut there It will be enough of a deterrent if there's a nut-and-bolt solution. Hence, I will most likely just use the nut as a reference It was designed to be used with the mounting post-and-bolt that came with it. It was machined to have a "shoulder" to help secure it A bit of trial and error is required when mounting the bikes Errors are inevitable. While finding the right configuration is not an easy task, it won't need to be too overwhelming if you plan ahead. As a whole, this is a good product, it performs as expected, and it seems to be well-made The mounting system has been built. I will let you know if there are any problems when I travel with this mount.
