It is possible that this product will reduce friction.
The answer is contingent on the type and quality of wet suit used, as well as the frequency with which (SS) "swimmer shield" is applied. It's worth noting, however, that the pain of not using SS far outweighs the pain of not using it! It hasn't harmed or damaged my suit (I have a ROKA Maveric Sleevless), but I do have to reapply after about 45 minutes in the water.

Because of the ingredients in Newton Bay Swimmer's Shield, I've found a new use for it, both literally and metaphorically. Most roll-on deodorants contain a lot of toxic chemicals that are absorbed through the skin, which is why I don't use them. Because of these chemicals, I've previously experienced rashes (inflammation). Now I use Swimmers Shield as a carrier for the wonderful smelling essential oils I use for their topical health benefits and a little rubbing alcohol to wipe out bacteria in my armpits, which is what causes all of the bad odors. Newton Bay deserves kudos for coming up with yet another fantastic, healthy solution for everyday life.
My son has responded positively to this so far. He has fair skin and enjoys swimming for long periods of time, which he can now do. He used to get out of the pool in tears due to chafing and couldn't swim for days before we started using this product. He's no longer chafing while swimming.
It can be used on the lower belly, under the bust, and even in the armpits. At the beach or in the pool, it's perfect for kids in their wet swimsuits.

A true lifesaver! Inner leg chafing has always been a problem for me. With this product, I can once again wear dresses with ease and confidence. Keep it handy because it will wear off after a few hours. Keep it in a ziplock bag because it's a little greasy. No odor. It's very simple.
This is a great way to prevent chafing and heal existing chafing from my swimsuit under the arm. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. It leaves no stains on the swimsuit and has a light, pleasant scent. I'm not a big fan of perfumes, but this one is very gentle. It's simple to use and goes on smoothly. This product for chafing comes highly recommended by me.
It glides smoothly and does not float away as quickly as some other products.
