Questions & Answers
There are only two skin care products made by Assos. The Chamois Cream and the Skin Repair Gel are two of their products. So (CargoMart/Cycle Quest) I assume it's the same.
No scent. However, once on the skin, it has a cooling effect.
I didn't come across any.

It's very effective. So, I race ATVs, and I can't tell you how chafed my bum and girly parts get. I know it's a little personal, but hey, if you're like me and can't seem to find something that will allow you to do what you love without getting a raw butt in the process, then you're not alone. So, by chance, I googled what product would stop this dreadful chafing, and BOOM, this product appeared. THIS STUFF WORKS! I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I usually ride a two-hour cross-country race, and after using this product, my bum was in great shape when I finished. My husband and friends are also racers, so they gave it a shot and discovered that it worked on the guys' parts as well. This is the real deal, guys! So, how long are you going to be waiting? You'll never be chafed again if you buy this stuff. One thing I will say is that you must apply the cream to yourself as well as your underwear or athletic shorts. So, apply it to your parts and a generous amount to the area of your underwear where your parts would normally rub, and you're ready to go! Good luck.
It's a mile ride, and it's fantastic. I usually wait until the end of the summer to ride a century because I've developed some "resistance" to saddle sores - Because I don't ride during the winter, this takes a while. But this year, I did a charity ride to kick off the summer season, and I used this stuff liberally. I'm happy to report that it did an excellent job, and I was able to ride again within a few days of finishing the century. Just keep in mind that it does cause a mild burning sensation if you've never tried it before. Is it hot, or is it cool? I'm referring to a cooling/burning sensation that is similar to that of menthol. It's not painful; it's just something I'm guessing most people aren't used to wearing in their shorts.
I usually ride on an indoor trainer and have been using chamois butt'r, but I wanted to try something new. I decided to give this product a try because it received a lot of positive feedback. I'm almost done with the container, so I think I can give a fair assessment of the product: it works well, but it's not a miracle worker. When I ride, there's still plenty of friction; perhaps I'm not applying it thick enough. The product contains some menthol (but not too much), and I don't want any menthol in my system! Perhaps I'm the only one who feels this way. I'm back on Amazon looking for something else now that I've finished the entire container. I believe I will return to the chamois butt'r.
My husband, on the other hand, despises the modest cooling capacity. We both agree that the consistency is excellent, especially on long rides in hot weather. I usually reapply every 50 miles or so. There will be no chafing if you apply it liberally. However, because this necessitates a substantial amount of product, it is on the pricey side. But, because I value my bottom, I believe it is worthwhile.
I switched to Assos about a month ago and am extremely happy with my decision. When compared to what you'd find at your local sports store, this is a much better product. It's particularly noticeable during indoor trainer rides, when there's less airflow and moisture accumulates more quickly. I ride a 150-pound bike. During the off-season, I travel 200 miles per week. season, as well as 200- During race season, you should be able to complete 300 miles per week. One tub can easily last up to four days. 6 weeks. This is now my preferred method of transportation. Chamois cream is a type of cream made from chamois horns.
Other creams are better for short to medium rides, but they are more expensive. It's great for long rides and keeps you safe. Expensive. As in, nearly twice as expensive as other chamois creams that do the same job but may need to be reapplied. On long rides, use this. When comparing prices, make sure you know how much you're getting. Jars of other creams are 8 ounces. Only when Assos Chamois Cream is on sale do I purchase it. I did the same thing this time.
It works. I like that it's a white cream because it doesn't stain my clothes as badly as some of the others I've tried. Keep an eye on it because it has a minty flavor.
This is my first time ordering Assos cream, and I can see why it's considered the gold standard in chamois cream by most riders. With just a hint of minty fresh tingle, the comfort and creaminess are ideal. I just wish it was a little less expensive, given that it's been around for a long time and I'm sure it doesn't cost them much to produce anymore.
