Is this a pair of shoes that can be worn in the winter?

Those are waterproof, but the maximum temperature can only be 30 degrees Fahrenheit, and cold weather, as far as I can tell, does not have insulation.

What is the significance of number nine? A size 5 will set you back $100, while a size 10 will set you back $130. ?

I'm not sure, but I believe they have a large number of nines. The numbers 5 and 10 are the most widely used.

What country do they come from?

Cambodia is where the shoes are made.

Are the measurements given in US measurements?

I'm not sure, but the sizes seem to be on the small side. I got 11s, but they were closer to a ten or a ten. 5 and extremely narrow in width.

Dry and comfortable
5/5

I purchased this product because I work at a car wash and am constantly getting wet and walking around in wet shoes. Having to wear socks all day is a pain. So, around this time of year, I'm on the lookout for waterproof shoes (mainly because the ones I've bought in the past haven't lasted more than a couple of months, and sometimes you can tell after a week or two), and I came across these with built-in goretex. Salomons have a lot of good press, so I decided to give them a shot. They were a little tight when I bought them (I have a wide foot), but if you've ever worn hiking or trail running shoes, you know how important it is for them to break in. After about a week of wearing them, they are extremely comfortable, and I can wear them for up to 8 hours a day without experiencing any discomfort. However, the best part is that they have never been wet on the inside. These have been submerged in water for an extended period of time and are still completely dry.

It was disappointing
3/5

Save your money and buy something that isn't a GTX. I was hoping to fall in love with these shoes. I know a lot of people who have purchased and enjoyed Salomon's mid GTX shoes. I was looking for a durable, waterproof sneaker that could be worn every day. It was a few days before my hike in Yosemite when I first got the shoes, and they fit perfectly and felt great on my feet. I walked through a shallow creek in Yosemite, and water began to leak in after 30 seconds of exposure to the water. I was dissatisfied with the outcome. I paid an extra $20 or $30 for the GTX version of these shoes, which isn't waterproof. Waterproof is a better word. I would suggest getting the standard outlines. The GTX model is a complete waste of money. I purchased the Ultra 3 GTX mids, which are much more comfortable and waterproof right out of the box. Those are the ones I'd recommend.

The thickness of the removable insole does not appear to be taken into account in shoe design
3/5

A thick, memory-foam insole is included with this shoe. On a long hike with a pack on, a foam insole might come in handy. But it's far too thick for shorter excursions or everyday exercise, making the fit far too tight on the top of the shoe along the entire length of the foot when worn with medium or thick socks: from the arch of the foot to the ball of the foot, and into the toe box br>br>Because the shoe is entirely made of man-made materials, it is not suitable for children. The uppers are made of synthetic materials and have very little stretch. The shoe is barely comfortable with the insoles in, even with the thinnest socks I have. The insoles must be removed when wearing medium or thick socks. I don't have particularly high arches, so I don't think going up a half-size will help: With the insole in, the lack of space is primarily vertical, rather than longitudinal or in width, as if the designers failed to account for the thickness of the insole when designing the shoe. br>br>The good news is that even without the insole, the shoe provides adequate support and shock absorption. These insoles appear to have been added as an afterthought and were not factored into the shoe's design from the start. The shoe appears to be made of high-quality materials and construction. br>br> I haven't put them through a storm yet, but they appear to be water-resistant; The seams on the outside appear to be well-sealed.

The shoes are nice, but they are a little narrower than I had anticipated
4/5

These shoes are very nice. I wore them for three days hiking over 20 miles and had no problems with them; the only issue is that they are a little narrower than I expected, and I don't have a wide foot. The outer material collects dust easily, but they look nice and have a sturdy sole when clean.

If you enjoy your socks getting wet, this is the place to be
3/5

So, I'm a big fan of Salomon shoes, and I'm sure I'd enjoy these new goretex shoes as well. However, there is a snag. So, what exactly is it, you might be wondering? They aren't resistant to water. In no way, shape, or form. In fact, I've worn them at least 8 times now, and they're still wet at the toes after 5 minutes of walking in 6" tall grass that's moderately wet. Actually, it's quite disappointing. Especially when you consider the price. 00 shoes. So, if you enjoy wet socks and expensive shoes, these waterproof Salomons are for you!.

I'm having conflicting emotions
4/5

IMPRESSIONS AT FIRST: The photo doesn't show it well, but the back of the triple black version has a branded logo that is this light-colored. The color blue. I don't think it's a good idea. br>br>If you wear thicker socks, which is to be expected if you're going hiking, these shoes will run 1/2 size too small. br>br>The toe box is slightly narrower than American standards, but this isn't a deal breaker. br>br>I'll update this review as soon as I can.

Excellent shoe for the Pacific Northwest
4/5

This shoe is ideal for wet weather hikes. In the Olympic National Forest, I've done 12-mile days and never gotten wet. br>br>While the sole is stiff enough for downhill hiking, the shoe is light enough to feel agile. br>br>In hot weather, your feet will sit a little, but that's to be expected in a waterproof lined shoe. I like how low-key they are: br>br> They're suitable for city wear. br>br>One star deducted because Solomon makes their shoes a little too narrow because he is European. As a result, breaking them in takes a little longer.

Overall, great, but the toes are a tad tight
5/5

thicker socks in the box! These shoes are absolutely stunning. Almost everything I've learned about them has been positive. They appear to be rather small to me. I'm an 8-inch tall woman. 5 Men in the United States of America They're comfortable, but they're a little tight at the toe with some thicker socks. box area. Aside from that, it's water-resistant and looks fantastic! The color combination is fantastic. I'm going to buy more!.
