Questions & Answers

Is the new Balance footwear a standard fit, or does it come in different sizes?

This shoe runs true to size in terms of length, but some users have noted that it runs a little narrower than expected. br>Thank you for your inquiry, Tennis Warehouse,br>

What is the weight of a size 8?

I'm not sure what my exact weight is because I wear a size 9, but I'd say each shoe weighs around eight or ten ounces.

What does a ten mean? What is the weight of a 5 inch wide shoe?

Not much. There's more to it than a simple gym shoe, but it's not much.

Is the sole of the shoe long-lasting?

The shoe sole is, in fact, long-lasting. The body of the shoe is also extremely durable.

Selected User Reviews For New Balance Men's 1006 V1 Tennis Shoe

Although not ideal, it appears to be the best option at this time
3/5

Tennis shoes that fit my wide, flat feet are difficult to come by. Prince T22 was the only brand that seemed to work, but in exchange for durability, you get a heavier shoe, which can be annoying at times. Furthermore, I believe Prince's shoe manufacturer changed, and the shoe is no longer as comfortable. br>I'd been looking for a better option, and since the New Balance 1006 received positive feedback from Tennis Warehouse and was available in a wider range of colors, I took advantage of an Amazon sale. br>br>At this time, I can only offer first impressions because I just received them. Later, I'll try to provide an update. br>br>I wear a size 10 in men's clothing. The 2e width was obtained by multiplying 5 by 2. For 2e, it's a little snug. It appears to have minimal arch support, which is disappointing in terms of length and width. I have superfeet orthotics that I may use. Another reviewer claimed that an orthotic inserted over the shoe insert would still provide a comfortable fit. I disagree. To achieve a comfortable fit, I believe the shoe's insert should be removed and the orthotic inserted. Despite the fact that the shoe is a little tight, I'm hoping that some time on the court will help. I believe that if I went a size or a width up, I would end up with a shoe that is too big. br>br>Wonder if an orthotic in a 4E width shoe would work, but returning this, getting another, and finding out that option doesn't work might be a hassle. br>br>On the plus side, the shoe is significantly lighter than the Prince T22s, so that's something to be happy about. Furthermore, the sole appears to be robust and long-lasting. br>br>While the shoe isn't perfect, it's currently my best option. br>br>As previously stated, I hope to add more insights after spending more time on the court with these shoes. br>br>I would strongly advise anyone interested in purchasing these shoes to go to a store that carries the various widths and try them on. The opinions on whether or not they are 'true to size' and whether or not the width designations are accurate seem to be mixed.

Do not order these shoes if MC1005 was a good fit
3/5

For years, I've worn New Balance shoes, particularly when playing tennis. This MC1006 replaced the MC1005 and previous versions, all of which were perfectly compatible. New Balance uses the letter "MC" to denote a true "Tennis" shoe, and New Balance 9D shoes have always been the right size. br>br>Despite numerous reviews claiming that the shoes were "too narrow" and "too small," I had faith in New Balance and ordered them. New Balance, on the other hand, disappointed me. They've created a new 9D size that isn't compatible with a 9D foot. I felt betrayed after years of wearing New Balance shoes. Save yourself the heartbreak and disappointment. br>br> If the MC1005 fit you well, don't order these shoes. I'm on the lookout for other options right now.

Keep an eye out! I'm returning this model for a replacement
3/5

We assumed that this new "MC1006V1" (and we have no idea what "V1" stands for) tennis shoe would be an advanced/improved version of the more traditional Model (and highly touted when released) MC1005 Tennis Shoe that we had been using. The MC1006, on the other hand, reminded us of a basketball shoe: Taller, very sturdy, heavy, and overly solid in the base, lacking any of the flexibility we require (or at least prefer) for tennis. If you're a quick player, you won't be able to shuffle, bend, or flex your feet! br>br>Recommendation - It would be both nice and smart if our good friends at Amazon worked with their suppliers to include descriptive material that identifies WHAT has changed or "improved" between "evolving" product models, rather than "snare" us!.

These are genuine 4E items
5/5

I was born with a pair of small, wide feet. Those who are familiar with the situation are aware of the situation. I play pickleball every day for about 3 hours. I bought some NB 696 shoes after hearing that they were "great shoes" from some of my peers. I used a shoe stretcher to widen them out a bit because they were a little too narrow. They seem to be doing fine at the moment. The width was ideal for these 1006's. I played in the 1006's for 5 hours the other day and my feet were a little sore, but I would never have done that in the 969ers. When I got an email from Amazon asking me to review these shoes, I looked to see if they were still available at a good price and ordered one more pair. I usually find a pair of shoes I like and order four more of them, and I'm considering doing the same with these if the price drops.

Over time, New Balance has changed the wide fit of their Sneakers
3/5

I can't express how dissatisfied I am with how this sneaker's fit has changed over the last five years. 7 years. Yes, the model number is being updated, but they don't fit as well as the 1002, which was a step up from the 1004, which was a huge step up from this 1006. I had always purchased number eight. 5 EE, and they HURT my toe and side of my foot. The profile towards the small toe is obviously lower, and the front's now more pointed appearance is unattractive! This isn't a pair of high heels for ladies. Making the front of the sneaker more pointed adds another sneaker to trip over while playing tennis or pickleball, not to mention the fact that it looks ridiculous. There aren't many options for men with wide feet, but New Balance should stop messing with the fit and appearance of their sneakers. I went up to number eight. 5 EEEE and they're a little more comfortable, but I'm still not a fan of the sneaker's more pointed front.
