This is a fantastic slowpitch tee that I bought almost two years ago. After about six months, the base of one of the legs broke, as seen in one of the customer photos. I'm not sure if this is a manufacturer's defect or if I piled things on top of it and folded the legs up. Anyway, for 40 dollars, you get a lot of value. Also, for those who aren't happy with the rubber top - When they swing, they're most likely only hitting the top of the ball. I've probably taken over a thousand swings with the original top, and it's still in good shape.
A great tee that's simple to set up and transport, and I like how the tee can be adjusted to a comfortable height. I play a lot of slow pitch softball, and it's nice to be able to hit balls further up the field. The rubber cone in which the ball is held appears to be very durable, and replacements appear to be inexpensive. I've put about 300 swings on the tee and it's still in good condition. I was blown away and extremely pleased.
This tee was a Christmas present for my fourth-grader. We used it for the first time today.
1. The tee did not survive the first practice because the replaceable top was not designed to withstand 10 4th graders swinging at it for an hour. The top portion of this tee does not appear to be durable enough to last a season.
2. Another issue is the lack of a handle or shoulder strap on the travel bag. Who wants to buy a bag that doesn't have a handle or a strap?
3. The tee comes with a 30-day warranty from the time it was purchased. Ugh. br>I'll say that the tee's lower half seemed to work well. br>I'm undecided about whether I should buy replacement tops and risk them breaking after a few practices, or buy a different manufacturer's model.
We've been using it for three and a half years of travel baseball. In that time, it must have received 5,000 hits, and the topper finally broke last week. New toppers are being ordered and will be used in the meantime.
But that's it for a ball team. To begin with, here are some of the things I enjoyed: br>Doesn't encourage you to hit the ball four inches past the front of home platebr>Weighs a lot less than a standard teebr>Metal construction means no sagging or leaning tee stand, and no busted base stand. Things I didn't like:br>At its lowest setting, the tee sits a little higher than a standard tee. Higher by about 3 inches. For adults, this might not be a good deal, but for children (boys aged 8 to 12), it is. 10) It's too high for everyone except the team's tallest player. Things that sunk this deal were: br>br> br>For my 8-year-old son, I only used it three times. Baseball team of ten years old. They're a young group that doesn't have the bat speed to really tear things up just yet. On the third use, the top rubber holder broke away from the base, much to my surprise. This design will not be saved by any amount of tape. br>br>Final Recommendation: br>Don't throw your money away. Simply use a 15-pound tee; you'll get more mileage out of it.
I was blown away when we first got it. The tee is made of durable materials, and the ball rest is made of soft rubber, allowing young players to beat it to death without destroying it. It takes seconds to set up, and it's a fraction of the weight of the solid rubber type used by my boys' team. Her team is now the 10U state champions, and this tee has gotten a lot of wear despite the fact that it has gotten a lot of hits. We'll never buy another tee from anyone other than Schutt; it's well worth the extra money!.

Do not be fooled by the negative reviews. For the price, this is a well-made tee that is light enough to carry but sturdy enough to last. For the price I paid, I was actually surprised at how well it was built. br>br>As for the rubber top breaking, keep in mind that all toppers eventually break. Furthermore, if you continue to hit it with a bat, it will wear out. Reduce how many times you hit the rubber by lowering the tee. You can easily replace the rubber for $8 if and when it breaks.
