year- It's perfect for my eight-year-old son, and it's exactly what I needed. To begin with, the assembly takes approximately 30 seconds. It is made up of three parts. The base, lower tube, and upper tube are the three tubes that make up the base. There is a single heavy bolt that you screw in (by hand--no wrench required), and you simply screw it into the bottom plate and through the lower tube. You hand-crank it until it's snug, then slide the upper tube into the lower tube and you're finished! br>The Tee is entirely made of rubber, which is exactly what you're looking for. Some Tees are made of plastic or contain plastic components, which you don't want because they will break eventually. This tee is made of high-quality materials. It's so good that I've offered to let my son's Little League Baseball team use it at every practice, so it's now getting a workout from 12 kids once or twice a week. This is one I strongly suggest.
It has a lot of sturdiness to it. The smell has gotten a lot of attention. It has a rubbery scent to it. It was never an issue because we kept it in the garage. It's not a problem because we take it in the van to the batting cage and never smell it. It's a good stand, and I believe it'll last.
I bought two of these, the first of which lasted a season of coaching in a 10U rec league before breaking at the base. The second one lasted about 60 or 70 hits in the garage with my son before the base gave out once more. If you're using it for young children who aren't swinging the bat very hard, you'll get a lot of use out of it, but otherwise your mileage will be limited.
Do I think this is a great learning product for kids? YES! It's a fantastic way to get ready for small league. Because plastic is a sturdy material, it will not topple over. Great product for my little short grand-daughter, 3 1/2 years old and on her way to little league, when the size is adjusted for little ones who are short. With the included pole extension, it will be suitable for older and taller children.
The heavy duty rubberized material that makes up the tee, on the other hand, gives off a distinct odor. This thing is extremely tough; it doesn't bend even after a couple of misses. The base is large and heavy, and it does not move much. I would buy this product again for the price, and I will provide an update in a month.
My husband purchased this for our sons, and they have been playing baseball in the backyard since it arrived. It's an excellent tee for teaching kids how to bat off. It was incredibly simple to put together, and it appears to be very sturdy so far, despite the fact that it is being used by three rough and tumble boys.
Durable. The price is reasonable. I don't have anything to compare it to because this is the first tee I've ever bought, but my husband and I were very pleased with the quality. It appears to be long-lasting and capable of growing with him over time. I am pleased with my purchase.
It was given to me for my son to practice with, but it has already begun to fall apart at the base.
