Among several brands/sellers, this is my top pick! My 9-year-old daughter received these softball pants. To find the best option for future orders, I ordered several pairs from various Amazon sellers. I have to say, out of the several pairs I tried on, these pants were by far the best. It's made of a durable material that's also breathable. It'll be great for those hot summer days on the diamond while also keeping her legs safe as she slides to the plates! These were the only ones with belt loops among the many pairs I ordered from various sellers. Something I completely overlooked when placing her order, but which proved to be crucial in completing her ensemble. br>Are there any other advantages? This material's black is a deep, rich black. Some of the other pants I saw in stores and ordered from other sellers weren't. The other pair of pants were made of a dull black material that was almost greyish in appearance. She didn't have the same style as the other players on the field. She was able to match all of them with these, and the black is so vibrant and 'black' that it was ideal; also, as I previously stated, the fabric quality is excellent. We went through a lot of pants last year while playing softball. Almost every other game, I was buying new pants for her (she loves to slide!). haha) And with a heavy softball schedule of 25 games, that got VERY expensive very quickly; happy to know that this year won't be as expensive. These pants have already lasted through four games, many many slides, and are still in perfect condition, with no holes, just like the day they arrived at my house. Last but not least, there is a positive. These are also very easy to clean up. In light of the fact that I wash them at least three times per week. Other brands haven't always stood up to the test of time. They would normally fade with each wash, and the fabric would become thinner and thinner. So far, they've held up beautifully in all of the washes. The fabric hasn't faded, shrunk, or lost its original appearance. (And my ex-husband washed them with well water at his house for two of the nine washes. ) They also fared well in the abrasive water! )br>If I had to come up with a negative, I can only think of one. She complained a little about how the bottom elastic felt on her calf muscle during her first wear on the first day. My daughter is a very athletic young lady who runs back for the boys football team, plays softball in the summer, and participates in gymnastics. Her body reflects the fact that she is basically a year-round athlete. Her calf muscles are much larger than those of most girls her age and size, so pants that don't fit properly around her calfs are a problem. It was no different with these pants. She tugged at them throughout the game, and when they were taken away, she complained that the elastic had left an "itchy mark" on her legs. Again, this may not be a typical occurrence for your child, but if she has large calf muscles, you should be aware of this. It was, however, a simple fix. Her father simply flexed his fatherly muscles and yanked the elastic out a smidgeon. Because these are such good quality, it took him a while to stretch them out, but once he did, they were loose enough that she no longer complained. br>Overall, these pants have made me extremely happy. In the future, I will place another order for additional pairs.
