about 6". They have a plastic head around which the bungee is wrapped. I discovered that as the bungees grew older, I needed to double wrap them to keep the net tight. During the winter, it also aids in the removal of the bungess. br>After two years, I discovered that the bungees needed to be replaced.
This is primarily a rebounder for shooting. The vat board we have is intended for use on the ground.
They're about 18" long, but they're not necessary in most cases. The spike itself is sturdy and holds a good amount of weight. Over a year has passed since I used the spike holes.
The net is 7' x 14' and is secured with bungees. This is a high-quality item that is well worth your money.
Selected User Reviews For Kwik Goal AFR-1 Rebounder ,7' H x 14' W
My 6-year-old son celebrated his birthday yesterday. Because he enjoys soccer, I conducted extensive research and, after reading countless reviews of various products, reached deep into my pockets and purchased the most expensive rebounder, confident that I would regret purchasing anything other than a Kwik Goal product. 1 would arrive on his birthday, which is today. The timing was perfect. br>The package arrived on time, but in an obnoxious shape. Because of the product's flaws, I didn't even attempt to assemble it; in fact, I'm not sure if this was a new item at all. The material used does not appear to be of higher quality than an Agora rebounder, which costs half as much. I'm waiting for a replacement.
Net is now being stretched. The rebounders were delivered on time. The rebounders appear to be well-made and durable. The instructions for putting it together were well-written. The net appears to be too tight, and it should be stretched. The first time I set the net, it was difficult, but the second time was a little easier; however, the net was so tight at the bottom that the rebounder bows inward; hopefully, this will go away once the net is stretched out more. br>br>Update (8/27/12)br>After approximately 15 minutes, Here are some additional comments based on 20 uses over the course of a year:
- The net remains extremely tight. Stretching the bungee cords is a little easier, but it's still difficult, to the point where the bungee has slipped and shot out (like a sling shot) several times while trying to secure it. Because the bungee has a 1" plastic ball at one end, this is a serious safety hazard.
- The rebounder's smaller parts, such as the caribiner clip and rubber tip covers for the stubs that hold the net in place, are poorly designed and easily lost or broken. br>- It's fine to use a rebounder as a goal for scrimmages if that's all you have, but it's not ideal. I upgraded my pair to 14' goals by ordering nets from Fold-It. Goal. Unfortunately, the nets are only 21' wide, and I was unable to locate 7'x7'x14' nets. Because other more portable goals/rebounders such as Kickster, Bownet, and Golme are available, KwikGoal could maintain market share by including a 7'x7'x14' net with the regular flat net.
- Overall, this AFR-based program has a significant advantage. The metal frame of the rebounder adds to its durability. In comparison to many of the tension-relieving devices, it is large and bulky. based alternatives on the market, but the crossbar has minimal sag and the frame can withstand repeated hits without breaking.
It's been three years since I set the goal, and it's still going strong. The goal's frame is designed to withstand heavy use, so it won't sag like other types of easy-to-install goals. Players can aim for various quarters of the goal for accuracy, so dimensions are fine. Bungees stretch a little, but they've held their shape so far. The net's bottom clip is fine; however, a heavier gauge swivel clip is an easy fix. You can stretch the goal on the bottoms out with the heavier gauge clip, preventing the ball from passing through the rebounder's bottom.
It's well-made, sturdy, and stays put, and it's relatively simple to put together, though it's easier with two people. The only issue is that the net's elasticity is compromised in the bottom corners by the side loops. We've discovered that ground balls, as opposed to fly balls, can go under the net. return to normalcy This is a very good product for soccer training when compared to other options such as a full net or a small bounce back.
We bought this rebounder for our daughter, and not only does she enjoy it, but so does her older brother.
The construction is excellent. Setup is incredibly simple. It's a hit with the kids, and it's effective!.
This rebounder is what I use for youth soccer. Product of excellent quality and durability. The bungee cords, too, are of excellent quality. Spikes are rust-proofed with a coating.
I've never used a better rebounder.
