For children who are extremely thin, this is not the best option

My son is tall, but he's not particularly lean. We had to size up to get the right length for his shins, but the Velcro on the top doesn't cinch tight enough to keep the guard from sliding down. The guards are adequate, but I wouldn't recommend them if your children's legs are particularly thin.
