The padded ankles on these shin guards give you an extra measure of My only complaint is that the ankle straps are not very stretchy, so they are difficult to put on. They may prevent your shins from breaking but my only complaint is that they will protect your shins. Since my son can't put them on by himself, we should probably go up one size so that putting them on is easier.

I don't have enough experience with violent kids playing soccer with them for me to comment on the shin guard's success or failure. I do know that it fits my six year old and he seems to be safe.

As far as I can tell, everything has gone well! The neon orange/teal color was selected by my 8-year-old son because of its retro feel -) The fit on the bottom piece with elastic is a bit tight & There is not much space between the legs and the feet in his body

The same as in the picture. The size is perfect for my 7 year old daughter who will grow into it. Her legs are protected by a strong material, but it is soft on her.
