Questions & Answers

I'm a ten-year-old girl who usually wears a size What size surgery shoe should I wear if I'm a half-size person?

You'll need to order a medium men's size. The large size for women is too short, and the edge is made of a firmer rubber, causing your big toe to collide while walking. The men's medium is a little wider in the heel than the women's medium. That's easily remedied with a thick sock. This is a great shoe that is also very comfortable.

Isn't there something for the foot/shoe that doesn't belong in a boot? to bring the legs' lengths into balance?

The "Even Up" device, which is available on Amazon, comes highly recommended. It's a true miracle product that does exactly what it says on the tin: it "evens you out!" We even have a spare on hand in case of an accident in the future. Everyone who sees it is blown away! This BraceAbility Shoe (this listing) has worked wonders as the next step after using the boot and Even Up, and should be recommended for every foot injury, boot cast, and so on. I'm grateful for Amazon's availability of such fantastic devices!

Is the sole rigid or semi-rigid on this shoe? I require a firm sole. ?

It has a rigid sole, and after 3 months of wearing the big boot, my orthopedic doctor recommended these. These shoes provide some support, which is why they're called convertor shoes. You switch from a boot to these shoes (which I wore for about 8 weeks) because I was suffering from severe swelling. I've only recently begun to wear my regular shoes, which have a good support sole and other features. I hope this has been of assistance.

How do you deal with returns?

Amazon is fantastic when it comes to returns.

Selected User Reviews For BraceAbility Post-op Shoe for Broken Foot or Toe | Medical/Surgical Walking Boot Cast, Stress Fracture Brace & Orthopedic Sandal with Hard Sole (Small - Female)

I tried three different post-op shoes and am now on my third month of waiting for the 5th metatarsal to heal (odd location causes slow healing, but I'm glad to avoid surgery)
5/5

Because of the individual straps, it was possible to tighten the front panels and avoid movement or slipping in this shoe. The square toe makes it easier to keep your foot from tipping over. I'm walking and working in it, and I bought a second one to make sure it stays stiff and tight. A different shoe with a Velcro panel gave me severe cramping across the top of my foot, but this one is fine. I also added a pro-stretch to the top of my foot. Step liner (expensive, but since I'm walking around, it supports my arch properly). I was given an orthotic when I first broke my (right) foot. I had a great boot (the other foot needed a shoe extender to keep my hip from hurting), but I couldn't drive in it and had no one to help me, so I'd drive in this and then switch to the boot before getting out of the car. Others were a waste of money, but this was the best option from the beginning.

PLEASE READ THIS THING HAS A WRONG REVIEW BY SOME PEOPLE/MISUNDERSTANDING OF PRODUCT PLEASE READ THIS THING HAS A WRONG REVIEW BY SOME PEOPLE A teeny-tiny piece of Velcro appears to be sewn onto the straps' edge
5/5

This isn't the case at all. It can be removed and repositioned within the strap as needed. When I first got it, I thought my foot was too skinny/the boot was too big, so I tried to tighten it by crossing the straps. Then I noticed that the Velcro piece is double-sided and detaches from each strap, allowing you to place it wherever you need it. It's incredible once you tighten the straps with the REMOVABLE Velcro as needed. The relief was almost immediate.

Post-Op Shoe is a term used to describe a shoe that has been worn following This item was purchased for a relative who had broken her left big toe
5/5

She was in excruciating pain and attempting to walk around in regular shoes. This boot made a huge difference in terms of saving my life! She felt immediate relief as soon as she put the boot on. Due to swelling and socks, I ordered a size large (normal shoe size 9) for her. EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED! The shoe provided her with much-needed stability and comfort, and unlike some other reviewers, the boot wasn't too big, leaving her foot with plenty of room at the toes. Her foot was well protected even with thick woolen socks, and the length of the velcro straps required no adjustment. I would strongly recommend this boot to anyone who has a broken toe based on my satisfaction with this purchase.

My broken toe is well supported by this well-made device
5/5

After colliding with the thin side of a door, I broke my middle toe and was on the verge of surgery. I stopped taking Ibuprofen and Tylenol when I started wearing this shoe about 2 weeks after the injury because it provided the best support. I was wearing a surgical shoe that belonged to my son. The bottom design made walking more comfortable, and it was also more durable than my previous shoe. It's a great product that's also affordable. If you buy a shoe from a hospital or a doctor's office, it will cost you more than $100, and your insurance may not cover it.

It's a Million Times Better Than What I Got From the Surgery Center
5/5

The boot that the surgery center gave me was fine for the first week, but after that, my foot kept slipping forward; in this one, my foot does not slip at all, it is much more comfortable, and it does not attract as much pet hair and dirt as the other one. Another thing I noticed is that because it sticks out a little further than my toe, it keeps my toe, which still has a pin in it, from stumbling into things. I wish I had ordered this earlier. It was well worth the money.

It's quite effective
4/5

The shoe is exactly what I was looking for to accommodate my two broken toes and arrived the very next day after I ordered it with Prime! I ordered a women's medium (my shoe size is 7). It is a good match. The only issue is that the straps are far too long. Because the straps have velcro on the ends, cutting them to fit is impossible. I was able to get them to fit by crossing them. This product comes highly recommended from me!.

The Velcro's Secret The Velcro's Secret Take a look at the Velcro at the end of the long piece
4/5

There should be a small piece of Velcro attached to it - Pull the short Velcro piece off the shoe part and stick it to the long piece so you can pull the long strap (with the short Velcro piece) to the place where it attaches to the shoe. Carry on in this manner until it reaches your desired location. The excess long strap should then be trimmed off. I hope this clarifies things for you. My daughter was the one who had to educate me! br>br>If you want to avoid hot spots on your feet, wear them with a sock.

This one was a thousand times better than the one about medical supplies
5/5

I wish I had 1500 stars to give to this! br>I broke my foot and had to have two screws put in six weeks before going to Hawaii, and I didn't want to wear the tall boot. Because I wasn't sure if this one would arrive on time, I went to a medical supply store and bought another shoe, which was a million times better than the medical supply one!.
