Fits according to the measurements. Not as much support as my Push CMC splints, but I'm hoping for something to wear when they're bothering me because the hard plastic is uncomfortable. These were recommended by my hand therapist for sleeping, lounging on the couch, and other similar activities. For the amount of fabric/coverage, it's actually quite cool. It is neither the simplest nor the most difficult to put on oneself. br>br>Note that there appear to be versions of this with and without an optional thermoplastic insert that you melt into a slot in the thumb strap (in the microwave) to provide extra support; this one has it, but I didn't add it because I decided to return it after trying it on. It's optional, but they say you can't remove it once you melt it (I assume it melts into the neoprene), so make sure you want the extra support before you melt it. You also can't really try it out before you melt it because it's a straight piece. With it, support is adequate. However, there isn't much to see at the CMC location. br>br>However, I can't stand the top velcro part, even after applying some fabric medical tape to the edge of one velcro piece that was in contact with my skin. It still bothered me with the slightest wrist bending, as there is extra bulk there on top, which bothered both the upper and lower sides of my wrist, so I decided it would only get worse with prolonged wear. Trying to decide whether I should try the one with the added wrist support, as the velcro appears to be lower down on the arm with that one, and the added wrist support may negate the wrist bending issue. With De Quervain's and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, as well as Thumb CMC Arthritis, I could use some extra wrist support. However, because it is not available on Prime, no returns are possible, and shipping times are lengthy. In addition, despite having other problems, my hand therapist did not recommend long-term stabilization of anything other than the CMC joint on me. So I'm going to hold off until I can ask him about that model in particular. It's always a good idea to seek medical advice before using any splint for an extended period of time, especially if you're unsure about which type is best for your needs, when to use it, and so on.
I have one for my left hand and it's fantastic - It does a good job of supporting my thumb and arthritis. This one has a seam that digs into my thumb, and the thumb hole is too small for my thumb, which isn't particularly large or wide. I'm not sure if this is a one-off or if they're all made the same way.
I went to Desert Hand Therapy because I was suffering from arthritis in my hands. They made a profit off of them, so I bought them. The thumb covers were too small, which was a problem for me. I am grateful to have received new braces with a plus () larger thumb covering size. I appreciate the lengthening of the part that wraps around and secures the braces. They've now been fitted into a section that grips and secures them.
Patients who have had surgery, because we don't have to start at a slower pace due to surgery pain.
It didn't help with the problem for which it was prescribed; Indeed, it aggravated my arthritis and caused my hand to sweat profusely.
I've had them for a long time and they're still in good condition.
It is extremely comfortable and durable.
