It's healing, but it's also very sensitive; he had bandages on it, but they weren't enough to protect it. I came across the BRMDT Finger Splints and decided to try them out. They come in three sizes, which means you won't have to worry about them not fitting. The small one is excellent at what it does and does a good job of safeguarding his thumb. He can go about his daily activities without fear of stumbling over something with his thumb. The other two will go into my first-aid kit. These will be our go-to gloves if we sprain a finger or suffer from any other type of finger injury. for ensuring the safety of our index finger. Great items to have on hand in case of emergency for the price!.
So I went out and bought a pair of thumb splints. Because the splint has foam on the inside, it is quite comfortable; however, it seemed to compress the top of my thumb a little too much, so I bent it a little to adjust, and it now fits perfectly. For almost a week, I wore the splint day and night, then only at night and during light activities that might stress my thumb, avoiding all intense activities. I've had to rely on my left hand or enlist the assistance of my husband, but my thumb is now in excellent condition! I'll keep wearing the splint in this position for a few more weeks just to be sure. The velcro strap is the only aspect of the splint that I dislike. It's a good one. Despite the fact that the rough side is on the inside, the edges snagged my clothes. So I sewed a piece of wide elastic to fit, and it's worked out fine; it's also easy to wash with soap and water, though I wouldn't do so too frequently because the glue might not be waterproof. Note: My ring size is 5 and I am a female. 1/4.
It is the color. I like it, and the metal is exactly what I was hoping for. However, I had to order the three pack in order to get the size I needed quickly, even though I didn't require all three sizes. The Velcro closures are also a turnoff for me. They look nice, but they get caught on a lot of other things, so I have to remove the splint quite frequently. If I can, I'll remove it and replace it with a rubber band.
Because I suffer from trigger thumb, I needed a tool to help me with yard work. It's really good. It pinches occasionally, but it's great not to have my finger hurt.
The cost was right on the money. It completed the task at hand. It's simple to adjust to your specific requirements. The only reason I didn't give it a five-star rating was because the velcro didn't hold up as well as it should have. After a few weeks, it didn't seem to hold as well. If I need to use it again, I'll have to get another piece of velcro or borrow one from one of the other two splints.
These splints serve their purpose admirably. The bottom, however, is sharp and cuts into my palm, and the outside of the white Velcro attracts dirt, making them appear dirty quickly.
My daughter thought she had broken a bone in her finger. It was confirmed a few days later, as expected. This was something we had ordered online to get us through the long holiday weekend. When she went to the clinic, they told her that her splint was better than anything else they could give her and that she should keep it on for another four weeks. 6 weeks.
I should have returned these, but I misplaced them and then had to deal with some personal issues. They didn't stay on very well and were far too long for my fingers. I even tried taping one of them on, but it came undone.
