Perhaps a little watery. Although resistant, it is not waterproof.
They are not, in my opinion. After bathing, I would always change the bandage.
Although they adhere well, I do not believe they are the best dressing for a pressure ulcer. It's preferable to use foam with a border.

A large gauze section with a thin adhesive border is depicted on the box's image. A small gauze area with a wide adhesive border is included in the box. br>br>If you require a larger gauze area, these will not suffice. br>br>This is deceptive marketing in my opinion. If you don't update the package image, you'll have to stop selling them. br>br>The gauze area is only 2" X 2" in size. 1/4"br>The image on the box appears to be 3"X 3" in size.
For a non-profit organization, I needed these. My heel has a healing wound. Because I have diabetes, I was concerned that the wound would become infected. I had been using a more expensive brand, but the small bandages were nearly $2 each, and I couldn't afford to keep buying them. This Dealmed Sterile Bordered Gauze Non Stick Island dressing covered the wound just as well. The one issue I had, and the reason I only gave it four stars, was that the adhesive was almost too strong, making it difficult to remove pieces of the bandage from the bottom of my foot, where I had extremely dry skin. I'm not sure if they're waterproof, but even scrubbing the residue off wouldn't remove it all, so I'm guessing they'd keep water out if you weren't soaking them. That is something I would not recommend because it will trap moisture inside. If you need a long-lasting wound dressing, these wound dressings are a good alternative to the more expensive ones. These bandages must be changed frequently in long-term care.
I'm using these instead of manuka honey wound ointment to treat a large shin wound. I actually place them in a vertical diamond shape, which covers and protects my wound, as well as my clothing and the wound itself. I use compression hose and have never had an issue with the adhesive rolling if I take my time putting it on. I just ordered the 4x4 because my wound is slowly healing and I won't be needing the 6x6 for long. The bandage's packaging is simple and easy to use.
These are incredible! There are no leaks and the boarder is a good size to keep it safe and secure. I noticed my surgeon's office uses the same ones the other day, so I knew I'd made the right decision; they do an excellent job of protecting my open wound. For the last two weeks, I've been changing the dressing and bandages twice a day with this brand, and my skin hasn't been irritated like it had been with the other tapes and bandages I'd been using before. I wish this exact brand and style were available in a variety of sizes! For the time being, the 4x4 is ideal!!.
I wish I had the ability to recommend these to anyone or anything. To be honest, the adhesive isn't very good. It will be a miracle if it stays on for one day. If you've ever used the more expensive silicon versions used by medical professionals, you know how long they can last if properly applied. To the point where they must be dated in hospitals due to their long adhesiveness that does not leave residue or cause pain when removed. I really wanted these to work, but they're a complete rip-off.
I had to order a different brand of dressing because these were temporarily out of stock. That is something I will not repeat. These stay in place well, and I had no trouble removing them without causing any damage to my skin. Even though I was carefully peeling off the dressing from the other brand I ordered, it tore a small chunk of skin.
These dressings are especially beneficial to those who have sensitive skin. My ailing mother-in-law Law is constantly colliding with objects and tearing his skin. When these bandages are pulled off, they cover the area but do not cause any trauma.
The edges are prone to curling. For my ankle, I needed these. I have to cover them with a light compression stocking after I've applied them. In order to put the stocking on, I have to tape down all of the edges with micropore surgical tape, or the edges will curl. The edges will curl even if they are lightly brushed against something. I've also used the Medline Bordered Gauze, which adheres much better than these - If I'm careful, I won't even need the tape.
