Questions & Answers

Are these able to withstand water? So, if the bandage is on your finger and you wash your face with your hands, will it come off or will it stay on?

Yes, absolutely. For the past 15 years, I've been using these to treat road rash (and other similar injuries), and they're still going strong. 3 cycles of a hot shower or bath. br>Avoid applying lotions, moisturizers, or oils to the bandage's edges. br>br>The following are the most common causes of failure (in order of frequency): sharp corners - br>() Any friction, such as normal clothing or bed fabric, causes them to peel away easily. SOLUTION: round off the corners with broad cuts skin oil - br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> The skin must be as oil/grease-free as possible. Even if you only use it on the skin adjacent to the injury, rubbing alcohol is the best option. During exercise, my extra greasy skin is too much for the DuoDerm, which has been a problem for me for the past decade and a half. If I'm having a lazy week, I've got them set to 6-hours. 7 days. br>() too much internal liquid (the dreaded failure mode) - When a wound produces enough liquid to leak out the edge, the bandage is no longer sterile and must be replaced.

Is there any latex in this product?

Yes, the description states as much.

Are these the clear patches, or are they something else?

These aren't skin tones, they're flesh tones.

Is it normal or acceptable for a small pocket of liquid to form around a road rash wound when these are worn?

Exudate is the normal fluid that seeps out of a wound. It's normal to see some liquid when there are no signs of infection and the wound has been cleaned before applying the dressing. When changing the dressing, look for signs of infection and gently clean the area.

It was originally used in dermatology, but it is now being used for personal reasons
5/5

Prior to this, I worked in Dermatology. I've been using Duoderm for years to help heal wounds, post-surgery wounds, areas that run easily, break in shoes, and blisters from high heels, among other things. If the edges are properly adhered, you can leave it on for up to ten minutes. Water will not get in if the edge is lifted for more than 12 days. This item is completely waterproof. My niece, who had abdominal surgery and has a large 7-inch scar, recently purchased this for personal use. Aquaphor was applied to the wound, and one pad was cut in half and overlappingly placed over the wound. It is recommended that you cut the edges curved rather than square, as square edges are more likely to lift or catch on corners. This product was delivered on time and is an official Duoderm product that I use for a variety of purposes.

MY LIFE WAS SAVED BY YOU
5/5

This stuff saved my life on a number of occasions. I was involved in a moped accident and suffered severe road rash as well as wounds to my legs and arms. I was SO UNCOMFORTABLE and in so much pain for the first couple of days, using gauze and neosporin. I saw these on a cyclist's blog about road rash and decided to give them a try. I'd had them on for about 5 days when the first one started to lift, so I took it off, expecting to have to replace it. ) Where the patch was, I now have brand new skin. Plus, there was a 1" spot of very minor scratch that the patch didn't cover, and the deep wound beneath the patch is literally 20x less noticeable than the scratches I didn't cover. I am both surprised and awestruck. Anyone would benefit from these.

Buying from the seller is not a good idea
3/5

This product is commonly used to treat wounds and is extremely effective! However, the most recent box I received had a self-adhesive label on it. created - It's difficult to remove the label from the papers attached to it, which is not the way it should be, and it's definitely not a good product; I've had enough of them to know. It should be possible to return the product, but it isn't.

Skin graft donor site: I had skin graft surgery recently and was having a lot of trouble with my donor site wound
4/5

At the doctor's office, I was given petroleum mesh dressings, but I had to rip them off every day because my new skin was attempting to fuse with the mesh. Due to the painful removal of the mesh, tears welled up in my eyes and I had to clean them every day. br>So I was doing some research online and came across this type of dressing. So I read the Amazon reviews for this product, specifically those that mentioned road rash, and I couldn't wait for the dressings to arrive! br>My pain at the donor site has significantly decreased, which I attribute to the fact that my skin (or lack thereof) isn't sticking to the pad. I'm hoping that this will shorten the time it takes for my body to heal and regenerate, as I finally got some sleep last night for the first time since my surgery a week ago. I wish the doctor had told me about these supplements when I was in such a desperate situation. br>When my healing has progressed, I'll update my review.

Make sure you know how to use this product; it's great if you know how to use it according to your requirements
3/5

Make sure you know how to use it before you start. I bought this for an elderly person, but the person who applied it didn't realize that it needed to be covered with another bandage or gauze to avoid adhering to fragile or thin skin. When removing the bandage, this resulted in skin loss, which is a dangerous situation when dealing with elderly people. I wish it came with more detailed instructions or even a demonstration video on how to use it. Also, when I tried to return this item, Amazon listed it as non-returnable. Despite the fact that there was no mention of this in the product description or return information, I believe it is returnable.

Eczema is no longer a problem in my life
5/5

For my lifelong eczema, I've tried a slew of products. It was cured in a month using this method. What I did was apply my favorite eczema ointment (hydrocortisone or any anti-inflammatory) to the affected area. itchy cream) and applied it to the entire affected area, leaving it on for a month. There will be no problem with shower or anything because it is 100% water proof. I took it off after a month and my skin felt amazing. I couldn't believe my eyes! However, the color of the area covered by this dressing was the only drawback. The room was dimly lit. I'm trying to do the same thing this time, but changing the new dressing every week on my other leg, just to let skin breathe every now and then. As anyone who has eczema knows, color doesn't matter as long as it's no longer itchy with nice new skin. Try this.

Extremely beneficial in the treatment of cracked skin
5/5

I used paper bandage tape to hold these patches in place after cutting them into tiny strips. In the winter, the insides of these pieces are the only thing that helps my cracked fingers. My husband sliced off a small piece to apply to his chapped lip, which was caused by exposure to the elements. It worked wonders, despite the fact that he had to replace it several times per day. I'm not sure how that stuff works on the inside of the patch, but it works wonders for cracked skin. I'm going to give it a shot with my calluses! Because you can cut them into many smaller pieces, each patch will last a long time. I can't imagine ever needing to use the entire patch at the same time.

Road Rash Heals Quickly
5/5

If you race motorcycles, there's a good chance you'll be involved in a crash at some point. Clean your wounds right away, then wrap them in these bandages. Instead of taking a month or more, skin will form in a week or two. People may recommend tegaderm (because it's less expensive), but it's a subpar product that's too thin and lacks any kind of durability, requiring you to reapply bandages on a regular basis. Duoderm is extremely durable; you can work out, shower, and cut the sheets to fit the needs of each wound.
