Is it possible for them to be oxidized? Is there a brand tag attached to them or something?

Because they are nickel plated, they will not oxidize. There is only a paper tag attached to them. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Were they made in the United States?

I don't believe it. This appears to be from China.

The item isn't exactly what it says it is

The bit is 5 inches long, according to the description. I got it, and it's huge, measuring 5 1/2 inches in length. Because it would not fit my horse, I returned it.
