Coating? In any case, it's a good low-cost option

Stubben's Golden Wings are completely budget-friendly. Photos of the bit with inside light and with flash are attached. The "coating" appears to be a little worn, which makes me wonder about the quality. However, the bit is heavy and feels correct; I'll see how my horse reacts to it, but in any case, it appears to be a cheap staple to keep in the trunk for later if necessary.
