I highly recommend this youth baseball glove for its excellent fit and quality construction Although it's closed, it can still hold the ball. The material is thick enough to protect the wearer's hands. I bought this glove for my eight-year-old son, who has just started playing baseball this summer. My son enjoys the contrast of colors on the glove. As an outfielder, he is able to find his glove in the dugout quickly and return to the field. Even though it is softer than most new gloves, it does take some time to break it in, something to consider, especially for young players who are still working on their grip. As time drew near, my son used some tricks such as glove conditioner and heat to speed things up. My son, who is playing Little League and is 9, saw this glove and thought it would be perfect for him. This was way too small when it was delivered to us. Upon reading the description of the device, and seeing that it had the rating of 10 youth, I assumed that was the age of the youth who would Seeing as this is the first time my son has ever played baseball, I just assumed he meant that. Our surprise was that it was very small and not as big as we had expected. think the 10 youth represents the size of the glove, not the age of the kid who is going to use It isn't as clear as it could be.
