These are the shoes my granddaughter wears on a basketball team, and they chose them because they have extra thickness on the sole and a heavier enough weight to stay on her knee. Under shin guards, they should work well.

It's great to have these socks. The pillow cases tend to be of a good thickness to provide some cushioning and to prevent holes, but thin enough that they are not oppressive during hot weather.
