Simply beat the crap out of every finger of the glove and the webbing after oiling it (I use Vaseline). Then pound and pound until the pocket is exactly where you want it. You can learn how to do it by watching one of the many YouTube videos available.
Mine arrived safe and sound, as it should. The last thing you want to happen while you're breaking in your glove is for it to fly off.

In fact, everything I've purchased from Hot Glove, including their glove treatment, has been both functional and affordable. This mallet has a ball end that can be used to flatten out random bubbles and wrinkles in the leather as well as create a ball shaped pocket. Despite the lack of a knob, I find that the stick end is tapered to shape the finger stalls, and it grips securely. The length could be an inch longer to fit higher in the pocket, but you can always turn the glove inside out and pound upwards into the web to stretch it out. I was concerned about how light it was, but it actually swings faster and is less tiring than some solid wood mallets. Last but not least, I was worried about the 2-year-old. It hasn't failed me yet, and I'm sure it allows this product to be much more affordable than a one-piece construction. piece. If you want to break in a glove faster than with a weighted softball, this is a must-have.
This is an absolute must when it comes to breaking in a new glove. Once you've oiled your glove, give it 40 or 50 good whacks with this mallet, and you'll have a perfect pocket in no time. I wish I'd had one of these as a kid. The time it takes to break in a new glove will be significantly reduced if you use this product. Instead of spending hours playing catch, you can do this anywhere in a fraction of the time.
My adolescent has been using it for weeks to subdue his Wilson A2000 (super stiff) mitt. It makes a huge difference! He's discovering that this mitt is breaking in much more quickly than he anticipated. We haven't had any issues with sturdiness. It appears to be extremely durable and capable of withstanding a lot of punishment. Some of the black dye from the mitt transferred to the mallet's ball, but it scraped right off. Families who love baseball should definitely check it out!.
Tool for breaking in gloves that is both effective and indispensable. The slick ball is gentler on leather than the traditional ball. a ball was created versions on a stick With this thing, I've smashed a lot of gloves. There is no indication that the ball end is loosening. The nice smooth finish makes it easy to wipe away dark dye streaks before working with lighter colored gloves (hint: It can be cleaned as good as new with Murphy's oil soap. ) It would be nice if the handle were a few inches longer.
I've never worn a glove before and had no idea how to break one in. The mallet appears to be exactly what I need to break in my mid-range guitar. Rawlings glove from the third tier. More hammering is necessary, but the glove is already looking better after a few hours of work.
I bought a new baseball glove to replace the one I had in high school a few years ago when my kids were old enough for little league. I've had a lot of trouble breaking it in, especially the ring and middle fingers. I tried stretching out the leather with some cut-down doweling, but it was difficult to get rid of those. I can, however, grasp the ball portion and twist it into place to stretch out a finger with this device. After only one week of use, my hand fits better in my glove than it did after four years of trying to break it in. The money was well spent.
I was looking for a mallet to help break in a glove and noticed that the prices were all over the place. I chose this one because it was reasonably priced and appeared to be comparable to more expensive mallets. It worked like a charm, and I was able to completely subdue my son's glove with it. The glove is breaking in nicely, and I'm saving some money by using this mallet.
Keep in mind that this is a low-cost tool. It works well on the pocket, but not so well on the rest of the glove. It is worth it because I just broke in two gloves and they did not break. It should, however, be one of a limited number of tools you employ. Otherwise, get one in the shape of a small bat.
