You can, but it gets a little dirty and gross after a while. Speedo Ergo Ear Plugs, Silver are now my preferred ear plugs. It's great, it stays put, and it lasts a long time. I swim two times a week. I've had it since September 22, 2014, and I use it three times per week.

My left ear was draining and funky when I got swimmer's ear just before going on vacation for a dive. But I was planning on going swimming anyway. I bought these earplugs in the hopes that they would be the Silver Bullet, and they did not disappoint; they are fantastic! They're made of pliable silicone that molds to the shape of your ear. You secure them behind the tragus of the ear, the pointy protrusion on the front of the hole in your ear, and they stay put no matter what you do. They stay in place so well that I frequently forget they're there when I get out of the water. My swimmer's ear/ear infection cleared up eventually, and thanks to the earplugs, it didn't get any worse while I was swimming in the ocean and pools. Excellent product; I've already placed an order for a backup set. Oh, and I've never worn earplugs in my life, and I'm 53 years old, so I guess even old dogs can pick up new tricks. Good job!.
I read about pieces getting stuck in children's ears and in your hair while researching which ear plugs to buy. If you use these incorrectly, they'll do just that. They're supposed to cover the earhole (called the concha, that circular area in the middle of the external parts of the ear - I looked it up) I shape them to fit into that space. ) They are not to be inserted into the ear canal. Also, if you're in the pool, keep your hair up to avoid contributing to the pool's hairball problem; ) I also read in another review that these are essentially just wax, and I agree. br>br>These, on the other hand, I really like! They keep my ears safe and allow me to swim more comfortably. Bonus: suffocates the sounds of rowdy children The only complaint I have is that because they are waxy, they will pick up any dirt or particles. Before you put them in, I recommend wiping down your ears. I'm glad they came with two pairs because one of them will most likely get too dirty to keep.

Our 6-year-old son's swimming lessons necessitated the purchase of these. They work well, and he appreciates the ability to control how they enter his ear. They stick well to his ears, and he can adjust them as he swims. We haven't had any problems with them in almost six months of use. There isn't a drop of water in his ear. I couldn't be more pleased.
Because of the nature of its design, this silicon blob does not allow that air to escape and instead pushes it deeper inside, exerting pressure on the ear drum, which you can clearly feel. (It's the same sensation as when the plane is descending. ) And if you don't push it hard enough, water will just go around it, rendering it ineffective. It seems like a good idea in theory, but I'm not sure how practical it is in practice.
In contrast to some reviews, there is no rapid aging. I employ them in two ways. After using a pool three times a week, wash them with tap water. I'm still on the first pair after three months. I now own three packages as a result of someone complaining about accelerated aging. Let's see how long they can hold out for.
They were out of stock for a while, but as soon as they were back in stock, I stocked up again. The items currently for sale, however, are not genuine Speedo products. The ear plugs are now half the size they were before, and the consistency has changed dramatically. (They don't come out cleanly and leave bits stuck in your ear, which can be dangerous. ) The packaging is clearly fake (something off with the Speedo logo, which also peels off) if you look closely. Purchase is not recommended.
For years, I've used Physicians' Choice or Mack's ear putty, but I got these when they were out of stock, and they're useless if you need to keep your ears dry while swimming. With them, there's no way to keep a seal. I tried half of one and the whole one, but the half went in too far and the whole wouldn't seal. Don't throw your money away.
