Questions & Answers

Why is there no information about the product or what it is supposed to do in the product description?

It's self-explanatory: they're ear plugs that keep water out of your ears while you're surfing, preventing surfer's ear (a common surfing ailment).

What's with the $60 price? They're just earplugs at the end of the day, right?

We sell for the manufacturer's suggested price, which is based on the price we pay for them. They have a higher "tech" feel to them. You can learn more about them by searching for "Surf Ears" on Google.

Is this product covered by a warranty? There have been a lot of mixed reviews. Many people complain that they break or don't work, while others praise them. ?

We've been selling them for a few years now and have never had a problem with returns or warranties. We purchase them from an Australian distributor, so I'm not sure about the warranty. This is what I discovered on their website: A: We have a warranty for 6 months after purchase, so if your plugs break due to normal use during that time, we'll replace them. (If you purchased your SurfEars somewhere other than this website, please contact your local distributor for assistance.)

What is the method for attaching the lease to the body?

Place one plug in one ear, then loop the string around the neck and place the other in the other. Don't forget to smile while doing so.

Selected User Reviews For Creatures of Leisure SurfEars Water Out Sound in Ear Plugs

Using for a month / 20 times - review from the point of view of a surfer What I Really Enjoy - With them on, you can hear what they're saying
3/5

- What I despise - The price: These should have a lifetime warranty at this price point. There should be a lifetime guarantee on these if they break, if one of the ear pieces falls out, if the neck piece snaps, and so on. "We'll send you a replacement piece if you pay $5 for shipping. "However, these do not include that. " (
- What is merely acceptable - I got these right before Christmas. br>br> I live in Southern California and go surfing on a regular basis. I had ear surgery a year ago as a result of a surfing accident, and I now wear ear plugs whenever I leave the house. I tried both the silicon wax and the type used by construction workers. Both are functional, and I keep a pair of the construction worker type in my wetsuit pocket as a backup. The water was kept out by both types (silicon wax and construction worker), but I couldn't hear anything - at all. And when there are a lot of people chasing the same waves, that's a little dangerous. Alternatively, if you simply want to chat with a friend. As I tried to converse with others, I had to take the ear plugs in and out. As a result, this isn't the best choice. br>I was ecstatic to see some businesses attempting to solve the problem with hearable ear plugs. I bought a pair on Amazon for a very low price, and they fell out of my ear after only a few minutes of use. So, frustrated, I came across these with only a few reviews and decided to take a chance. br>In the last month, I've used them at least 20 times. I took them with me to Costa Rica and used them twice a day. Here are my thoughts on the subject:

- Value - 1/5. Is it really $60? I feel as if I'm being taken advantage of here. Every time I put them on, I get the same reaction. R& You don't have to charge this much for D because it wasn't that expensive.
- Fit - 2/5. They don't completely remove the water from my ear. Water still gets into my ear, but not enough to prevent me from hearing. For me, this is one of the most vexing aspects. They come in four sizes to fit a wide range of ear sizes. I tried a smaller size to see if it would make a difference, but it didn't. Some water still gets in, which causes my ears to become irritated over time. br>- Style - 3/5. Colors are all over the place. I only wish they were all black, or at the very least a neutral color.
- Quality - 3/5. They're made to connect multiple pieces, such as an earpiece, a band around your neck, an earpiece to keep them in place, and a baffle that goes in your ear. They are all pushing against each other. I haven't noticed anything in the last month of heavy use, but it appears that the rubber is a little cheaper; I could be wrong, but it's just a feeling.
- Packaging is very important. 5/5. I like how they're kept in such a small container. It comes with a small carabiner, which I like. It's what I use to secure my car. I'll never forget to take them off or put them on again this way. br>br>A vote with your wallet is the highest form of praise. I'm not sure I'd repurchase these. It's simply too expensive at $60. I like what they do for me, but if the neck band breaks or the earpiece falls apart while I'm in the water (which I expect to happen at some point), I'll look for less expensive alternatives. HOW THE DESIGNER COULD IMPROVE THEM: br>br>HOW THE DESIGNER COULD IMPROVE THEM: I'd give them a 4/5 rating if they kept 100% of the water out. This can't be that difficult; every other set of ear plugs I've used has kept the water out completely. As a result, a few minor adjustments may be beneficial. I'd give them a 5/5 rating if they were less expensive and kept all of the water out. I'd give them a 5/5 if they were the same price but included a lifetime warranty.

Purchase a less expensive item
3/5

After 30 years of surfing in Southern California, I developed surfer ears, which cause me external otitis every three months. I decided to buy Surf Ears 3 after 5 months. Despite the fact that I couldn't think of a good reason to pay $60 for ear plugs, I was persuaded by the fact that they were designed by a surf brand and were supposed to be more efficient than others. That said, I started with the medium size but lost the internal plug after a few sessions, so I had to switch to the larger size; as for the hearing feature, I could barely hear with them and couldn't tell them apart from others. If that wasn't bad enough, after about 3-months of use, I lost it in the trunk of my car for 4 months, somewhere between the wetsuit, clothes, towels, and all the other messes that I'm sure surfers can relate to, and I never found it again. I'm not going to spend another $60 on anything! As a result, I'll look for a $10/$14 one that will do the job without costing a fortune. Please, Creature of Leisures, be more realistic; I'd gladly pay $30 (still a good deal), but I can't justify paying twice as much. By the way, no one could justify paying $60 for these ear plugs based on the reviews.

The letter "R" is the first letter of the color red
3/5

This version, for some reason, does not appear to hold water as well as the previous version. They do a good job, but there are two reasons for the two-star rating. One disadvantage is that the color makes it nearly impossible to see if it falls off your head or neck. Two, while the idea of having one earbud be one color and the other be a different color is cool, they must've been high when choosing their colors. Despite the fact that red begins with the letter "R," it is the left ear. Despite the fact that blue contains the letter "L," it is the right ear. Let's get this party started, man.

These appear to be adequate ear plugs, with the caveat that they are "a little on the pricey side
3/5

" br>To say that's an understatement is an understatement. br>Like all of the others, the plugs are claimed to protect against "surfer's ear. " Surf Ears 3, on the other hand, is a completely different story. 0 - You can still hear despite the plugs in your ears. br>They appear to sell for $59 solely because of the latter claim. br>$95 br>$60 br>$60 br>$60 br>$ br>Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, Brent Casey is on the line. Since July of 1987, I've been a surfer. In Oregon, that's been going on for ten years. For the past 21 years, I've worked as a product designer in Los Angeles. br>These ear plugs are in no way worth that much money. There's no chance at all. br>It's all about the sales. br>I knew what I was going to find on the Surf Ears website before I went there: The Background Information. br>Sure enough, under "Story," I discovered what appears to be a mad libs template that you can download to write your own origin story. It was exactly what I expected, which told me everything I needed to know about Surf Ears earplugs: Our Hero - he's a true sailor - who happens to have a mechanical design background, has severe hearing problems as a result of exposure to a lot of water, and as a result of this, he embarked on a never-ending search for the perfect earplug, which proved fruitless and unsatisfactory, and so he - and his merry band of scrappy, adoring sidekicks - Obviously, all watermen with design experience in various fields - They'll have to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty! They establish a business - Ear Labs is a company that specializes in the research and development of hearing aid Obviously - because it must contain the word "lab" in order to be considered legitimate - and put in a lot of effort into creating The Ultimate Earplug: Ears for the waves! br>Some of the real gems that stood out to me were claims like "this design took 25,000 hours to develop. " Really? They even paraphrase Malcolm McDowell's claim that "to truly understand what you're doing, it takes 10,000 hours. " " This is the part of the movie where Rocky is sweating, working out, punching the bag, and running up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. br>If it takes you that long to design an ear plug with an entire team, maybe you're not cut out for it. Also, if it takes you that long, you're probably using other people's money, a trust fund, or something similar, which is more likely if your first name is preppy. Christian: Hello, my name is Christian. This is a fantastic illustration. This product is a modular ear plug with a hollow central stem and a micromesh screen on the outside that prevents water from penetrating, allowing sound to pass through while keeping water out. This is an excellent suggestion. Whoever came up with the idea deserves a lot of credit. The design is simple, but it works. That's exactly what they are. br>It's likely that the injection molds were costly - Possibly in the tens of thousands of dollars per person. For that, I'm guessing they went with a contract manufacturer in China or Taiwan that specializes in this kind of thing and has mold engineers on staff who work with the client and their initial designs to crank out these things - Aside from one-time engineering costs, the individual parts are likely to cost less than ten dollars each. It's even more likely that it'll be under $5. And, depending on quantity, it could be as low as a dollar per part for some. So they need to recoup their investment in the molds, as well as the cost of a production run, packaging, shipping, and advertising, among other things, but there is no way in hell that they can do so for $59. It's not possible. They're making a lot of money on these. 500 percent profit? How about 600? A thousand? That's more than enough for a massive marketing campaign. I'm not sure; perhaps they want to pursue a career in auto racing. I'm sure they'll be able to build a rally car, for example. But not with my hard-earned cash! br>br>In my opinion, these ear plugs are likely to work and to let in more sound than other types of ear plugs - Those who are thrown under the bus in their "Story," in which they make a point of trashing all of their competitors, which is always a big red flag for me. br>br>If you need some silicone to put in your orifices, this site has a lot of cheap butt plugs - as well as possibly more enjoyable - But at $59, it's not nearly as effective as screwing you. br>Excellent concept - Overpriced to the point of absurdity.
